Saturday, 13th June, 2026 TITLE: “Do Not Give Up.” ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) 2 Chronicles 15:7 (KJV) “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.” Galatians 6:9 (KJV) “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Many people miss their harvest not because they failed, but because they stopped too soon.” DAY'S REFLECTION One of life's greatest tests is not starting a task but continuing when results are slow. Everyone enjoys the excitement of a new beginning, but perseverance is required to reach the finish line. In the days of King Asa, God encouraged His people not to become weak or discouraged because their work would be rewarded. Likewise, Paul reminded believers that those who continue doing good will reap a harvest in due season if they do not give up. Consider a farmer who plants maize. After sowing the seed, he does not dig it up every day to check its progress. He waters it, protects it, and patiently waits for the harvest. If he quits too early, he will never enjoy the fruit of his labour. The same principle applies to prayer, ministry, education, business, family life, and personal growth. Sometimes the answer is closer than it appears. God may be working behind the scenes while you are wondering whether your efforts are worthwhile. If you are serving faithfully, praying consistently, studying diligently, or trusting God through a difficult season, do not lose heart. Your labour in the Lord is not in vain. Keep believing. Keep working. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Your due season will come. MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES Hebrews 10:36 (KJV) “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Psalm 126:5 (KJV) “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS) 1. Perseverance is essential for success. 2. God's rewards often come after seasons of faithful waiting. 3. Discouragement is a temptation, not a destination. 4. Encourage someone who feels discouraged. Thank God for the progress you have made. Focus on faithfulness rather than immediate results. PRAYER Heavenly Father, strengthen my heart to remain faithful. Help me not to grow weary in doing good. Give me patience, endurance, and confidence in Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen. DECLARATION I will not give up. I am strong in the Lord. Primary Goal: To remember Christ's sacrifice and look forward to His return. AG Statement of Fundamental Truths - The the bread and juice are purely symbols used to: .Express sharing in the divine nature of Christ .Act as a memorial of His suffering and death .Serve as a prophecy of His second coming. Shifting Focus to Fellowship (Communion) - By using the word "Communion" or "The Lord's Supper," the church intentionally emphasizes fellowship-communion with God and corporate unity with other believers. "Communion" directly highlights the intimacy of sharing a meal in remembrance of Christ. Adherence to Memorialism (Strict Symbolism) - Unlike groups that believe the bread and wine literally or spiritually transform into Jesus's physical flesh and blood, the AG practices memorialism. Protection of Salvation by Faith Alone - The AG holds tightly to the belief that human beings are justified solely by grace through faith. If taking communion is viewed as a necessary channel to receive God's saving grace, it risks turning a gift into a religious "work" that must be performed. Rejections of the term sacrament prevent the misconception that the ritual itself has saving power. Ordinance (An Act of Obedience) - For the Assemblies of God, an ordinance is a symbolic practice commanded by Jesus (ordained) for believers to practice. The act itself does not possess supernatural power, nor does it save a person or wash away sins. Instead, it is an outward, physical expression of a spiritual reality that has already occurred through faith. While this word refers to Christian practices like baptism and communion, the choice of terminology reflects a profound difference in what churches believe happens during the practice. The Assemblies of God, along with many other Evangelical and Pentecostal churches, observe the Lord's Supper as an *ordinance.*
