My yard got mowed. Yippitty skippitity. It looks fabulous, too, if I do say so myself. It only took two days to get it looking goodly again. I figure that I am getting old because a well-cut yard excites me. Haha.
Yesterday was primarily a writing day. Unfortunately for me, my thoughts were not really vibing with the writing program that helps me fix things like plot holes and such. As a matter of fact, the second score it gave me was lower than the first score. How does that play into your ego … haha. That is when I decided that I needed to go finish the yard and leave my computer to rest and think about its life choices.
My basement is dry again…well, not flooded, it may never be dry ... haha. Yard is mowed, front room got vacuumed, laundry got done, dishes got done, bathroom got done … I would say a good day all in all. Today, we have some running to do this morning and then a doctor's appointment this afternoon.
This morning, I read something that made me go “huh”. There was a post on social media that asked if, as Christians, do we need to follow the rules of the Old Testament. The reason that I said ‘huh’ is because in my head, the same question would apply to the original constitution. We have new laws now, so do we need to follow the old laws?
My apologies for my thoughts this morning, but that seems a bit weird to ask such a question. In my brain, it is like a common-sense application. No, we do not need to make a bazillion sacrifices to atone for sins. Jesus did that for us on the cross; however, we do need to follow the Ten Commandments, and we do need to show respect and reverence for God. We do need to treat others with respect. We do need the basis of how the New Testament came to be in order to appreciate what He did for us on the cross. As I write this, I realize that it was probably clickbait to views, but I have heard statements like that before, and it boggles my mind why someone would think that the history and foundation of salvation are no longer relevant. The comparison for the world would be because we have new laws, the constitution is no longer needed. We have evolved, as it were. The history and foundation of our laws are no longer important. Again, without the foundation and understanding, then what we are living now would not make sense.
This is just one of the many ways that Satan uses the very thing that we live for against us in a logical manner. Think about it. The biggest thing that we do not need to do anymore to cover our sins is sacrifices. But without the sacrifices of the Old Testament, and what they stood for, you cannot begin to fathom the magnitude of what Jesus did for us. He will key in on that aspect, then he will make a blanket observation that all of the Old Testament is obsolete…it is not. It is very important. The lessons that I am learning as I go through it have been astounding.
Scripture tells us to test the spirits to see if they are from God. If they do not align with His word, they are from Satan himself. Remember, the enemy will use logic to make it seem as though they are close enough for government work, but if they do not align … then those thoughts are from the underworld.
Today, I encourage you to go to Him in prayer and offer up those ideas that on the surface may appear to be godly and ask Him to clarify in His word where you can find the answer. You may be surprised that what you thought was right is not and what you thought was wrong is valid. Information is the key to understanding the schemes of the evil one.
