What we choose to look at every day has a powerful effect on our spiritual life. Jesus said, “The light of the body is the eye” (Matthew 6:22, KJV), reminding us that our eyes are not just windows to the world but gateways to the heart. In a generation filled with endless images, videos, and distractions, it is easy to slowly drift away from the things of God without even realizing it. That is why we must be careful about what we allow into our minds. David understood this when he said, “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes” (Psalm 101:3, KJV).

When our eyes are fixed on Christ and our hearts are filled with His Word, His light brings peace, wisdom, and discernment. But when we constantly feed on things that draw us away from Him, spiritual darkness begins to cloud our judgment. Every day, we make a choice. We can focus on what strengthens our walk with God, or we can allow the world to shape our thoughts. The more we look to Jesus, the more His light shines in us, and a life filled with His light will never be overcome by darkness.
