He has not given up on you. 🙏 A Prayer for Every Weary Christian Heavenly Father, I pray for every brother and sister in Christ who is reading this with tears in their eyes. Some are exhausted. Some are grieving. Some feel spiritually numb. Some are secretly ready to walk away from the faith. Lord Jesus, draw near to them exactly as You promised. Let the brokenhearted feel Your presence. Replace despair with hope, shame with forgiveness, fear with peace, and weariness with renewed strength. Holy Spirit, breathe fresh life into hearts that have grown cold. Restore the joy of salvation. Give us a hunger for Your Word, a love for prayer, and the courage to keep following Jesus one day at a time. Teach us to trust Your promises more than our feelings. I really was ready to walk away from God myself last year. But after much soul searching. No matter what. I just can't live without Father Jehovah God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit! Plus I don't want the Devil the Satisfaction of quitting on God. I have permanently decided to stick with God & Jesus Christ no matter what happens in my life. Psalm 118:24 NKJV This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. There are days when the last thing we want to do is rejoice. Our mood is gloomy, the situation is out of hand, and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming. We can relate to the writers of the psalms, who often felt this way. But no matter how low the writers felt, they were always honest with God. And as they poured out their hearts to him, their despair often turned to praise. When you don’t feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel. You will find that God will show you reasons to rejoice. God has given you this day to live and to serve him—be glad, because serving him makes all the difference in the world!

Conflict and Courage. 2 Kings 13:14-20 Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13. It was not given Elisha to follow his master in a fiery chariot. Upon him the Lord permitted to come a lingering illness. During the long hours of human weakness and suffering his faith laid fast hold on the promises of God, and he beheld ever about him heavenly messengers of comfort and peace. As on the heights of Dothan he had seen the encircling hosts of heaven, the fiery chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof, so now he was conscious of the presence of sympathizing angels, and he was sustained. Throughout his life he had exercised strong faith, and as he had advanced in a knowledge of God's providences and of His merciful kindness, faith had ripened into an abiding trust in his God, and when death called him he was ready to rest from his labors.... Elisha could say in all confidence, “God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.” And with rejoicing he could testify, “I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.” “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” 15Prophets and Kings, 263, 264. Christ claims all those as His who have believed in His name. The vitalizing power of the Spirit of Christ dwelling in the mortal body binds every believing soul to Jesus Christ. Those who believe in Jesus are sacred to His heart; for their life is hid with Christ in God.... What a glorious morning will the resurrection morning be! What a wonderful scene will open when Christ shall come to be admired of them that believe! All who were partakers with Christ in His humiliation and sufferings will be partakers with Him in His glory. By the resurrection of Christ from the dead every believing saint who falls asleep in Jesus will come forth from his prison house in triumph. The resurrected saint will proclaim, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1 Corinthians 15:55).16Selected Messages 2:271, 272.

Luke 15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Can you imagine the rejoicing in heaven that happens when sinners repent? Jesus spoke of this great joy in heaven at the change of heart of one who has been living in sin and finally repents. His statement can be found in the book of Luke where we see Him conversing once more with the judgemental Pharisees. We know the story as the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Once again the religious leaders are being critical as they judge Him for eating with social outcasts. His response is given in the form of a parable where He explains that God rejoices deeply when a lost soul repents and is turned to Him. We see the joy of our Father while the Pharisees stood before Him with their self-righteous attitudes, looking down on Him and the tax collectors and sinners He ate with. The parable is simple. A shepherd leaves 99 sheep behind knowing they are safe and goes to find the one stray that has wandered away. Once the shepherd has found the lost sheep he has a massive party to celebrate the one lost sheep having been found. This story mirrors our own Shepherd. He actively pursues the lost and then rejoices and celebrates with all of heaven when that soul repents. The heavens erupt in praise and rejoicing over just one, single soul. Imagine how much more there would be if more lives were changed and people came to real, heartfelt repentance? But what of the other 99, the ones who are righteous? Is there no celebration of their lives or choices? We are all sinners and we make poor choices daily. None of us is truly righteous. We all fall short. But when we turn from sin, repent and seek God’s forgiveness the heavens rejoice. The 99 righteous in the story likely referred to the religious leaders who assumed they were morally correct already and did not need to repent. They falsely believed they were living a proper, righteous life and would be rewarded for it. They did not see their own sin and their need for repentance. Have you become like the Pharisees, blind to your own sin? There is no justification for doing what is contrary to God’s will.
