  • What you don’t see behind every book…

The Bible study. The writing. The editing. The rewriting. And a lot of prayer.

Writing isn't just creating words. Sometimes, it's surrendering a message God has placed on your heart.

A little glimpse behind the books and the journey God is still writing.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

When I started this writing journey, I had no plan, no thoughts, no direction … less one. Serve God. As I got rolling with it, I thought that it was annoying and cool at the same time that I would wake up in the wee hours of the morning with messages … yes, messages. Sometimes I would write a devotion and then turn around and write one, two, and sometimes three poems. When my first book got picked up by a traditional publisher, I was super stoked and almost quit my job. Because you know, I was going to be a published author and my book would pay my bills. Obviously, God spoke sense into me, and I did not quit. Though I took quite some time off from writing, until now, anything that I wrote was for Him. He was my focus. My writing was and is all about bringing glory to Him.

I belong to several online writing groups. There is a mixture of traditional (publisher does all the hard work like editing/marketing) authors, vanity (author pays publisher for the editing and marketing), and Indie (author does all the work and publishes through specific free publishing sites) authors in these groups. You can see through the comments where their heart lies. I read the posts and find the information that God wants me to see, and comment only where He leads me to comment. One common theme with them is that we all have one familiar mindset … ‘that is not how I thought this worked’.

Traditionally, with the help of television and other stories, writing a book and getting it published was set on certain parameters. If you did not conform to those parameters, you were left out in the cold. Well, anyone who knows me knows that I do not conform well. Haha. I have always been an odd duck.

In my scrolling, I have gotten several different ideas on how to better market my books. All of which require me to be present. To have face-to-face encounters. To sign all copies … without a separate fee. To get His message out there. To show the chaotic world that peace is possible. One of the areas that I found to market is in supermarkets. Yes, you saw that right … supermarkets. That concept gave me all kinds of ideas. I do a lot of small town fests and farmer’s markets. The other day, well before the 4th, I saw a tent set up in a Burger King parking lot to sell fireworks … I instantly thought, “Why can’t I do that?”

When I first started looking at doing book signings, my mind was stuck in a rut of libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops. Places typically or stereotypically are associated with reading … but why not some place no one expects to see an author set up … grocery stores, fast food, random retail establishments … why not?

John the Baptist was not a conformist. He actually was considered a radical. I have often called Peter my hero or soul mate of the apostles because of my hot temper; however, I am leaning into John the Baptist’s radical stubbornness … spread the word no matter how I look or sound or where I am located. Speak truth. Always. Everywhere.

What is it that God is asking you to do that sounds too off kilter? What is keeping you from jumping in feet first? Nothing that Jesus did was in line with the religious leaders' vision of godliness, so why are you worried about the optics of the world? Why not be a part of the revival that is confusing those stuck on the law of tradition?

My plan, moving forward, is the same as it has been … honor God … but in those places, any place, that I can set up … and speak Truth to the lost. If it is fests, markets, stores, fast food, or the middle of a random parking lot, I am in. How about you? Are you in to spread the Good News … regardless of the world’s view?

    Be blessed.

**But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.—1 Corinthians 1:27
**Therefore, behold, I will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.” –Isaiah 29:14

  • “QUIT DUMBING DOWN THE WORD OF THE MOST HIGH GOD”
    Texts: Jeremiah 23:28–29 • Hebrews 4:12 • 2 Timothy 4:1–5 • Revelation 2–3
INTRO WHEN GOD SENDS A SOUND
There are moments when God doesn’t whisper.
    He doesn’t nudge.
    He doesn’t suggest.
    He ROARS.
He releases a sound that shakes nations, rattles churches, exposes idols, and summons His people back to the ancient, unshakable, unchanging truth of His Word.
This is not a teaching moment.
This is not a gentle reminder.
This is a clarion call a trumpet blast from the throne of the Most High.
Because the church has grown too comfortable with:
    a gospel that costs nothing
    a discipleship that demands nothing
    a Christianity that confronts nothing
    a Word that changes nothing
But the Spirit of the Lord is thundering:
    “ENOUGH.
    QUIT DUMBING DOWN MY WORD.”

    I. THE WORD OF GOD IS A VOLCANO NOT A VIBE
Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like fire… and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”
    A. The Word is not a suggestion it is a SUPERNATURAL FORCE
The Word is not meant to be cute.
It is not meant to be comfortable.
It is not meant to be culturally acceptable.
    It is meant to ERUPT.
    It is meant to BREAK.
    It is meant to BURN.
    It is meant to TRANSFORM.
    B. We have turned the Lion of Judah into a housecat
We preach Him like He needs our help.
We present Him like He needs our approval.
We treat His Word like it needs our editing.
But the Lion does not need permission to roar.
    C. The Word is not fragile WE ARE
The modern church acts like Scripture is too harsh.
No our flesh is too soft.

II. THE WORD OF GOD IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE
    Hebrews 4:12 “Sharper than any two-edged sword…”
    A. A sword that never cuts is a decoration
If the Word never wounds your flesh, it will never heal your soul.
    B. The gospel is not meant to be “relatable” it is meant to be REVOLUTIONARY
Jesus didn’t come to fit in.
    He came to overthrow.
    He came to disrupt.
He came to divide light from darkness.
    C. Revival does not come through comfort it comes through CONFRONTATION
Every revival in history began when the Word was preached without apology.

III. THE CHURCH HAS LOST ITS APPETITE FOR TRUTH
2 Timothy 4:3 — “They will not endure sound doctrine…”
    A. We have raised believers who want inspiration, not instruction
They want sermons that make them feel good, not sermons that make them holy.
    B. We have created a Christianity that avoids the cross
    We preach resurrection without repentance.
    We preach blessing without obedience.
    We preach grace without transformation.
    C. We have replaced the altar with an audience
People don’t come to be changed they come to be entertained.
But revival does not come to the entertained.
Revival comes to the broken, the hungry, the repentant, the desperate.

IV. GOD IS CALLING HIS PEOPLE BACK TO THE HARD TRUTHS
This is the revival cry the trumpet blast the shaking of the foundations:
    1. Return to the FEAR OF THE LORD
    Not fear of culture.
    Not fear of criticism.
    Not fear of losing followers.
    Fear of the Most High.
    2. Return to HOLINESS
    Holiness is not legalism.
    Holiness is not optional.
Holiness is the standard of the Kingdom.
    3. Return to REPENTANCE
    Not excuses.
    Not explanations.
    Repentance.
    4. Return to OBEDIENCE
    Not partial obedience.
    Not convenient obedience.
    Total obedience.
    5. Return to DOCTRINE
Doctrine taught to us is not boring, it is the backbone of revival.
    6. Return to the FULL COUNSEL OF GOD
Not the parts that make people shout.
Not the parts that make people comfortable.
    All of it.

    V. ILLUSTRATION — THE WATERED-DOWN ANTIDOTE
A city is dying from a deadly poison.
A doctor has the antidote — pure, potent, life-saving.
But he waters it down so people won’t complain about the taste.
    They drink it.
    They smile.
They feel better for a moment.
But they die because the antidote lost its power.
This is what happens when the church waters down the Word.

VI. THE FINAL REVIVAL CALL — LET THE WORD BE THE WORD
This is not the hour for soft preaching.
This is not the hour for diluted doctrine.
This is not the hour for comfortable Christianity.
    This is the hour for:
    Fire
    Repentance
    Holiness
    Truth
    Boldness
    Conviction
    Unfiltered Scripture
    Let the fire burn.
    Let the hammer break.
    Let the sword cut.
    Let the truth thunder.
    Let the Word stand.
Quit dumbing down the Word of The Most High God
and let revival shake the earth.

  • “Bible Ni Scam?” — David, Solomon, and the Polygamy Question

One of the common objections people raise when discussing the Bible is this:
“If David and Solomon had many wives, why is polygamy considered wrong for Christians today? Doesn’t that make the Bible contradictory?”
Some go further and say, “Bible ni scam.”
At first glance, the question sounds compelling. After all, David was called a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22), and Solomon was renowned for wisdom. Yet both had multiple wives. So was God okay with polygamy then but against it now?
To answer this well, we must understand an important principle of biblical interpretation:
The Bible records many things it does not approve.
There is a difference between what Scripture describes and what it prescribes.
Not everything recorded in the Bible is an example to follow.

    God’s Original Design for Marriage
To understand God’s view on marriage, we must go back to the beginning.
    Genesis 2:24 (KJV) says:
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
    Notice the language carefully:
    wife — singular.
    Not wives.
From creation, God established marriage as a covenant union between one man and one woman, becoming one flesh.
Jesus later reaffirmed this same design.
    Matthew 19:4–6 says:
“Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female… Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
This means God’s standard for marriage did not begin in the New Testament—it was established in Eden.
Monogamy was God’s design from the start.

    Permitted Does Not Mean Approved
So why did men like David and Solomon have multiple wives?
The answer lies in understanding how God sometimes deals with human rebellion and cultural brokenness.
There are things God permits in history that do not reflect His perfect will.
For example, Israel demanded a human king in 1 Samuel 8. God allowed it, though He made it clear that their demand came from rejecting His rule.
In the same way, polygamy became culturally normalized in many ancient societies. God did not instantly erase every broken social structure, but His tolerance should never be confused with approval.
    Permission is not endorsement.
Just because God allowed something to happen does not mean He called it good.

David’s Household: A Story of Chaos
    David had multiple wives.
But did that produce peace, blessing, and harmony?
    Not at all.
    David’s family became deeply fractured.
    His household experienced:
    sexual sin
    rivalry
    jealousy
    betrayal
    rebellion
    violence
His children turned against one another.
At one point, even his own son Absalom rebelled against him and attempted to seize the throne.
The Bible presents David honestly—not as a flawless hero, but as a man who deeply needed God’s mercy.

    Solomon: Wisdom Without Obedience
Solomon’s case is even more striking.
    He had:
    700 wives
    300 concubines
That number alone should signal excess.
But the deeper issue was spiritual compromise.
    1 Kings 11:3–4 says:
“And his wives turned away his heart… and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God.”
This is exactly what God had warned against.
Long before Solomon was born, God gave kings a clear instruction.
    Deuteronomy 17:17 (KJV) says:
“Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away…”
    Solomon directly violated this command.
And the consequence was devastating: the wisest king in Israel allowed idolatry into the nation.
    That is not biblical approval.
    That is biblical warning.

    The New Testament Standard
When we come to the New Testament, the creation pattern remains unchanged.
Spiritual leadership is described with clarity.
    1 Timothy 3:2 says:
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife…”
This reflects the same covenant pattern seen in Genesis.
The standard is not new—it is a reaffirmation of God’s original design.

    So… Is the Bible Contradictory?
    No.
The issue is not contradiction—it is interpretation.
Many people read biblical stories as if every action of a biblical character is something God approves.
    That is a mistake.
    The Bible records:
    Noah’s drunkenness
    David’s adultery
    Solomon’s compromise
    Peter’s denial
Yet in none of these cases does God call sin righteousness.
The Bible is remarkably honest about human failure.
In fact, that honesty strengthens its credibility.
If the Bible were merely propaganda, it would hide the flaws of its heroes.
    Instead, Scripture exposes them.
    Why?
Because the central message of the Bible is not:
“Look at how perfect these men were.”
    The message is:
“Look at how faithful God remains despite human weakness.”

    Final Thoughts
So, was polygamy okay for David and Solomon?
No—not in the sense of divine approval.
It was recorded, but never presented as God’s ideal.
    And the consequences speak loudly.
Polygamy in Scripture repeatedly reveals brokenness, conflict, compromise, and pain.
God’s design has always been clear: one man, one woman, one covenant.
Therefore, when someone says “Bible ni scam” because of David and Solomon, the better response is this:
Not everything found in the Bible is something God commands. Some things are recorded as warnings, not examples.
And perhaps that is one of Scripture’s greatest strengths—it tells the truth about humanity without editing out our failures.

“Bible Ni Scam?” — David, Solomon, and the Polygamy Question One of the common objections people raise when discussing the Bible is this: “If David and Solomon had many wives, why is polygamy considered wrong for Christians today? Doesn’t that make the Bible contradictory?” Some go further and say, “Bible ni scam.” At first glance, the question sounds compelling. After all, David was called a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22), and Solomon was renowned for wisdom. Yet both had multiple wives. So was God okay with polygamy then but against it now? To answer this well, we must understand an important principle of biblical interpretation: The Bible records many things it does not approve. There is a difference between what Scripture describes and what it prescribes. Not everything recorded in the Bible is an example to follow. God’s Original Design for Marriage To understand God’s view on marriage, we must go back to the beginning. Genesis 2:24 (KJV) says: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Notice the language carefully: wife — singular. Not wives. From creation, God established marriage as a covenant union between one man and one woman, becoming one flesh. Jesus later reaffirmed this same design. Matthew 19:4–6 says: “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female… Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” This means God’s standard for marriage did not begin in the New Testament—it was established in Eden. Monogamy was God’s design from the start. Permitted Does Not Mean Approved So why did men like David and Solomon have multiple wives? The answer lies in understanding how God sometimes deals with human rebellion and cultural brokenness. There are things God permits in history that do not reflect His perfect will. For example, Israel demanded a human king in 1 Samuel 8. God allowed it, though He made it clear that their demand came from rejecting His rule. In the same way, polygamy became culturally normalized in many ancient societies. God did not instantly erase every broken social structure, but His tolerance should never be confused with approval. Permission is not endorsement. Just because God allowed something to happen does not mean He called it good. David’s Household: A Story of Chaos David had multiple wives. But did that produce peace, blessing, and harmony? Not at all. David’s family became deeply fractured. His household experienced: sexual sin rivalry jealousy betrayal rebellion violence His children turned against one another. At one point, even his own son Absalom rebelled against him and attempted to seize the throne. The Bible presents David honestly—not as a flawless hero, but as a man who deeply needed God’s mercy. Solomon: Wisdom Without Obedience Solomon’s case is even more striking. He had: 700 wives 300 concubines That number alone should signal excess. But the deeper issue was spiritual compromise. 1 Kings 11:3–4 says: “And his wives turned away his heart… and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God.” This is exactly what God had warned against. Long before Solomon was born, God gave kings a clear instruction. Deuteronomy 17:17 (KJV) says: “Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away…” Solomon directly violated this command.
