Anu Dani was a fervent devotee of the Hindu god Shiva the Destroyer. Her commitment was so well known that the local Nepali priests gave her open access to the temple as a sort of priestess instead of making her wait in line with others coming to offer sacrifices to the idols. But when Anu’s infant daughter, Monika, became gravely ill, nothing Anu or the other priests did brought healing. Anu and her husband, Prakesh, took Monika to different doctors and hospitals and still could not find relief. As a last resort, Anu took Monika to a church where Christians gladly prayed for them. When they finished, Anu recalled, the sickness had disappeared from Monika’s body. Anu felt certain that the God of this church was the real God and fully gave her life to Christ.
