2 Samuel 5:8 This is the story of David capturing Jerusalem. In some versions it says they went up by the water shaft. KJV uses the word "gutter" it makes me think of a place where you have to get low to go up. Am I willing to get low in prayer? Am I willing to humble myself to get where God wants to take me? Lets look at Jerusalem: The name comes from Yeru which is foundation or a dwelling place. The second part is from Shalayim which means peace, wholeness ,or completeness. So as we combine these words we get the picture of a place that represents a dwelling place of peace and wholeness. Do I want peace? Do I want wholeness? Getting low is simply our heart posture towards God its in this that we obtain the peace we desire.
