When evil thoughts comes in quickly start to meditate on Gods word. Dont entertain the negative thoughts, replace them with God's word, promises. You will prosper in everything you do!

God is Spirit, true worshippers must worship him in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24.

We must therefore be born of the Spirit so we can worship him in Spirit and truth. When we are born of the Spirit and starting growing in the spirit its when we submit to the Holy Spirit and then we can be guided, led and live by the Spirit.
