  • How Halloween Ushers Kids into the Occult ( from Doreen Virtue on facebook )

Regrettably when I was a New Age teacher, I was unknowingly indoctrinating children (including my own) into the occult.
So what I’m about to share with you is based upon my unfortunate past before God saved me in 2017. I promise you that I’m not being a legalist or an alarmist. This is based upon my research and experience with the darkness of the occult that is marketed as wellness, fun, normal, and harmless.
Each October, stores fill with glittering witch hats, “cute” spell books, and costumes that glamorize darkness. Children are taught to laugh at what God condemns and to play dress-up with the symbols of the occult.
What used to be hidden in shadows is now paraded in broad daylight and sold to children as “harmless fun.”
Satan the counterfeiter appears as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14) to make what’s demonic look fun, normal, beautiful, and delightful.
When children pretend to cast spells, embody the role of their witch costumes, play with zombie dolls, or call themselves “little devils,” they’re being conditioned to view sin and sorcery as harmless imagination. Yet God’s Word is clear that witchcraft, sorcery and idolatry lead to eternal torment.
Halloween isn’t harmless child’s play; it’s spiritual preparation and indoctrination. It teaches the next generation that darkness is something admirable to imitate.
It glamorizes rebellion against God and introduces them to the same lie the serpent told Eve that secret knowledge and supernatural power can be found apart from God.
When children dress as witches and sorcerers, they’re echoing that same ancient deception, even if they don’t understand the spiritual weight of what they’re imitating.
The enemy uses cultural normalization to dull discernment. Every movie, costume, and decoration that mocks holiness trains hearts to view evil with amusement instead of alarm.
That’s why Scripture warns, “Abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:22). To abstain means to completely turn away from something, and not to rename it “fun” or “tradition.”
We must remember that the spiritual world is real. Demons aren’t costumes, and witchcraft isn’t fiction. These are spiritual forces that oppose God and destroy souls.
I was in that world for most of my life, and it’s horrible! I praise God throughout every day for having the mercy to save me out of that darkness. Now I worn those who have ears to hear.
When the world calls darkness ‘entertainment,’ the Church must call it what it is: evil. Parents must guard their homes and their children’s hearts, because the devil knows that if he can win their imagination, he can dull their conviction.
Halloween celebrates darkness and disciples hearts to love it. Let’s not hand our children over to a holiday that mocks the cross of Christ and which glorifies that which Jesus died for.
If I could rewind my life, I would have raised my children on Bible study, and prevented them from engaging in Halloween and other occultic activities.
Let’s teach our children to walk as children of God’s Light, for “the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true” (Ephesians 5:9).
