- Should a godly woman compete with her husband?”
Short, direct answer:
No — a godly marriage is not about competition, but partnership.
Biblical Perspective
In the Bible, marriage is described as:
Unity, not rivalry (“two shall become one” – Genesis 2:24)
Mutual support (Ephesians 5:21 – submit to one another)
Different roles, same value
What “not competing” actually means
A godly woman:
Does not try to outdo or dominate her husband
Does not treat marriage like a power struggle
Does not compare success (money, status, control)
Instead, she:
Supports and strengthens her husband
Uses her gifts without insecurity or ego
Builds the home, not fights for position
Important balance (very important)
“Not competing” does NOT mean:
Being silent or oppressed
Accepting wrong behavior
Having no voice or identity
A godly woman:
Can be strong, wise, and capable
Can work, lead, and succeed
Can correct and speak truth with respect
The real principle
Marriage in a biblical sense is:
Teamwork, not scoreboard
If one wins and the other loses, the marriage loses.

- Doreen Virtue ( former witch and new ager )
The New Age pushes polytheism, which means believing in multiple deities. Polytheism appeals to the desire for secret hidden wisdom and following what seems to be fresh and trendy.
Ultimately, polytheism is not trusting in the Lord. It’s trying to conjure your own will and timing by calling upon multiple deities, instead of trusting the Lord’s will and timing.
In the New Age, I was a polytheist for which I have repented and apologize for unknowingly passing that deception along. Polytheism in the New Age also includes praying to “spirit guides, ancestors, and power animals.”
Even if ancient traditions push the belief in multiple deities, please don’t fall for this dangerous teaching. Scripture can’t be twisted to contradict itself.
God’s Word, which is our sufficient authority and guardrail, clearly condemns polytheism (worshiping multiple deities) and henotheism (believing in multiple deities while only worshiping God):
Exodus 20:3, 5: Commands having no other gods and forbidding bowing to others, asserting the Lord as a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 6:4, 14: Declares "The Lord our God, the Lord is one!" and forbids following other gods.
Isaiah 44:6, 45:5, 45:21: Emphasizes "There is no God besides Me.”
Hosea 13:4: States "you shall know no God but Me.”
1 Corinthians 8:4, 8:6: Declares "there is no other God but one" and highlights one God the Father and one Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 2:5: Affirms "there is one God and one Mediator.”
James 2:19: Warns that even demons believe there is one God.
TLDR Bottom line: No matter how charming a teacher, a culture, or an ancient writing seems to be, please don’t get deceived into believing in multiple deities. There is God, angels, and demons - but there are no multiple deities.Doreen Virtue ( former witch and new ager ) The New Age pushes polytheism, which means believing in multiple deities.
