God Confirms His Chosen

Scripture

Numbers 17:8 (NKJV)
Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.


Evidence of God’s Hand

In this verse, God settles the dispute over who was chosen to serve as priest. Each tribe presented a rod, but only Aaron’s came to life—budding, blossoming, and bearing fruit overnight. This miraculous sign proved that Aaron was chosen by God, not man. The dead wood came alive because of divine approval, showing that only God gives life and confirms true calling.

For believers today, this verse reminds us that when God chooses, He also confirms. We don’t need to force recognition or prove ourselves through human effort. When God’s hand is on your life, the fruit will show. What was once barren will begin to flourish, not by your strength but by His power.

Aaron’s rod teaches us that God brings life where there is none, fruit where there was dryness, and confirmation where there was doubt.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for being the One who confirms and empowers every calling. Help me to trust Your timing and Your evidence instead of seeking approval from others. Bring new life and fruitfulness where things seem dry, and let Your power be seen in all I do. In Jesus name, Amen.
