  • Dear God, thank You for this new week and for choosing to breathe life into me again. This year has been full of blessings, but also full of challenges, and I know I’ve only kept going because of You, not my own strength. Your word in Colossians 1:17 says, “And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” God, I thank You for holding me together through everything I’ve been carrying. Your promise in Revelation 21:4 reminds me that You’re never blind to my tears or deaf to my prayers, and that gives me hope as I step into this week. I don’t fully understand what You’re doing, but I trust You knew it from the beginning. I’ll keep putting my hope in Your word and waiting on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever. -Psalm 138:8

  • 2 Samuel 24

1 Again the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He stirred up David against them, saying, “Go and take a census of Israel and Judah.”
2 So the king said to Joab the commander of his army, who was with him, “Go now throughout the tribes of Israel from Dan to Beersheba and register the troops, so that I may know their number.”
3 But Joab replied to the king, “May the LORD your God multiply the troops a hundred times over, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king want to do such a thing?”
4 Nevertheless, the king’s word prevailed against Joab and against the commanders of the army. So Joab and the commanders of the army departed from the presence of the king to count the troops of Israel.
5 They crossed the Jordan and camped near Aroer, south of the town in the middle of the valley, and proceeded toward Gad and Jazer.

  • Philippians 2:5-11 NLT
[5] You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. [6] Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. [7] Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, [8] he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. [9] Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, [10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  • 2 Samuel 23:1-23

1 These are the last words of David: “The oracle of David son of Jesse, the oracle of the man raised on high, the one anointed by the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel:
2 The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me; His word was on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel spoke; the Rock of Israel said to me, ‘He who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God,
4 is like the light of the morning at sunrise of a cloudless dawn, the glistening after the rain on the sprouting grass of the earth.’
5 Is not my house right with God? For He has established with me an everlasting covenant, ordered and secured in every part. Will He not bring about my full salvation and my every desire?
6 But the worthless are all like thorns raked aside, for they can never be gathered by hand.
7 The man who touches them must be armed with iron or with the shaft of a spear. The fire burns them to...

  • 2 Samuel 22

1 And David sang this song to the LORD on the day the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
2 He said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.
3 My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation. My stronghold, my refuge, and my Savior, You save me from violence.
4 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.
5 For the waves of death engulfed me; the torrents of chaos overwhelmed me.
6 The cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me.
7 In my distress I called upon the LORD; I cried out to my God. And from His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for help reached His ears.
8 Then the earth shook and quaked; the foundations of the heavens trembled; they were shaken because He burned with anger.

  • Dear God, thank You for this new day and for the hope of what’s still to come. Your word in Matthew 13:43 says, “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” God, whatever I’m carrying today, sickness, weakness, or anxiety, none of it compares to the glory that’s waiting for me. Help me lift my eyes above the weight of this world and remember that I’m being transformed to reflect Christ Himself. I don’t want to let the hard things I’m facing pull my focus down when eternity is right in front of me. Thank You for the reminder that what I’m walking through now is nothing compared to what’s coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. -Romans 8:18
