  • WHY DON'T I RECEIVE WHAT I PRAY FOR, EVEN WITH FAITH?

"Didn’t Jesus say in Mark 11:23–24 that if I believe, I’ll receive?"

That’s a sincere question — and a common struggle for many Christians.
    Let’s take a closer look

    MARK 11:23–24 CONTEXT
Jesus is speaking to Israel under the law.
He is entering Jerusalem as King, fulfilling prophecy.
The offer of the kingdom of heaven was still on the table.

Jesus is not teaching the Body of Christ here. He’s addressing His covenant people (Israel), during His earthly ministry, under the kingdom gospel (Matt. 4:17).

This passage is about kingdom power — not about Christian prayer today in the age of grace.

RIGHTLY DIVIDING MATTERS (2 Tim. 2:15)

In this dispensation of grace (Eph. 3:2), we are not promised miraculous results just because of our faith. We're not operating under the same program as Israel.

The faith that moved mountains in Mark 11 was a sign of the coming kingdom (see Matt. 10:1, Mark 16:17–18).
Israel was given visible signs because they were a sign people (1 Cor. 1:22).

    WHAT ABOUT US TODAY?

We walk not by sight, but by faith in what God has already revealed to us through Paul (2 Cor. 5:7, Eph. 1:3).

We are told to pray in everything (Phil. 4:6–7)
But not everything we ask will be granted in this life — and that’s OK.
God’s will is that we trust in His grace is sufficient (2 Cor. 12:9)

Even Paul asked 3 times for something to be removed (2 Cor. 12:8) — and God didn't grant it, not because of weak faith, but because God's grace was enough.

    THE REAL PROMISE TODAY

Not that every prayer will get a “yes”
But that every believer is blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ (Eph. 1:3)
And that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom. 8:38–39)

    TRUTH FOR TODAY

Our prayer life is not a tool to command God — it’s our response of faith in His revealed will, growing in understanding and grace (Col. 1:9–10).

So don't measure your faith by how many prayers are answered.
Measure it by your trust in what God is doing today through Christ in the Body.

    So,

Mark 11:23–24 is not a blank check for Christians today.
It's a kingdom promise for Israel — not grace instruction for the Body.

"Pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17) — not because of what you might get, but because of what God’s already given you in Christ.

Trust the gospel that saves today:
Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Cor. 15:1–4)

And now, you’re complete in Him (Col. 2:10) — even without a mountain being moved.

  • Worship in Spirit and Truth:
Jesus emphasizes the importance of worshipping "in spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24).
This means worshipping with genuine devotion and understanding, rooted in God's Word.
