A poem I wrote a while back...
I LOVE YOU LORD
Oh, the love of God I know that grows with my understanding. Secure in your deep love that helps me when I’m down.
You provide the needs I need, when I need, you meet my need and more on top of that indeed.
Blessed am I, Most High by you my God I love you yes I do.
Your strength endures and surely if I trust it must build my trust in you.
Stronger than my foes it blows away my fears, it wipes away my tears, when I feel you near I feel secure.
Thank you Lord your word is true, I trust you yes I do, you help me every day, all day every way, in all I do, I commit to you, you lead me through my life with you and fill me with your Joy.
Closer God, I want to know, I want to grow, I need to know, I need to grow, I love to know, I love to grow.
The life you give is oh so fine, you refine and define your divine will for me and let me see the stuff in me that needs to go, so, because you love me so you change the way I think.
Because of this, I feel your bliss, I do not miss the way I was. I want to change, I want to trust, I want your love, I want to love the way you do.
Perfect love is set above but perfect joy, perfect peace, is what you give and if I live the way you want you will grant these things to me.
So once again, I thank you Lord for all you’ve done, all you do, all you will do.
I love you Lord in every way, I say you’re great, I lift you high, I sing your praises for ever more, I adore you, the glory I give to you my God, my rod, unending friend and king.
