A Devotional on Holy Spirit Encounter and Transformation
Acts 1:8 NKJV
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me…”
Family, there is a fire that cannot be denied. There is a power that transforms ordinary men and women into unstoppable witnesses of Jesus Christ. That fire is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. That power is the Promise of the Father.
THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER
Before Jesus ascended, He told His disciples:
Acts 1:4-5
“Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father… you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Jesus did not say:
“Go study more.”
“Go become intellectual.”
He said:
“Wait for power.”
Anybody can repeat information. But it takes the Holy Spirit to transform a life and make someone a true witness of Jesus Christ.
Everybody say: POWER.
THE DAY OF PENTECOST
Acts 2:1-4
“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come… suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind… and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…”
Suddenly.
Not eventually.
Not someday.
Suddenly.
The fire of God filled the room and filled the people.
Not some.
ALL.
Peter stood up and declared:
Acts 2:17
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh.”
Somebody say: FIRE.
THE COUNTERFEIT AND THE GENUINE
Everything the enemy offers is a counterfeit of what God wants to do in your life.
The world offers temporary escape.
God offers transformation.
When the Holy Spirit fills a person:
• Fear burns away
• Hatred burns away
• Unforgiveness burns away
• Bondage burns away
The fire of God purifies and empowers.
ENCOUNTER THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
Religion could not change me.
Rules could not change me.
But an encounter with the living God changed everything.
When I saw the power of God touch my wife and heal her completely, I realized this was not dead religion. This was a living God.
God reached through anger, brokenness, and unbelief — and revealed Himself.
From that day, everything changed.
TURNED INTO ANOTHER PERSON
1 Samuel 10:6
“Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you… and you will be turned into another man.”
That is what happens when the Holy Spirit truly encounters a person.
You are no longer sustained by religious routine.
You become alive in Christ.
Galatians 2:20
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”
DECLARATIONS OF FAITH
I declare that I am filled with the Holy Spirit and with power.
I declare that every chain of fear, doubt, and limitation is broken by the fire of God.
I declare that I am a bold witness of Jesus Christ and that I will not be silent.
THE CHURCH ALIVE
Paul encountered Jesus and was never the same again. The disciples encountered God and could not deny Him.
The church was never meant to be dead religion.
The church was meant to burn with the fire of God.
You may not know every theological term.
But if you have encountered Jesus, you have a testimony.
And if you have not yet encountered Him deeply — press in.
There is more.
There is fire.
There is power.
There is transformation.
CLOSING PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, we come before You hungry for more of Your presence, more of Your power, and more of Your fire.
Lord, baptize us afresh with the Holy Spirit. Let every dry place come alive again. Let every chain of fear, bondage, compromise, addiction, unbelief, and spiritual apathy be broken by the fire of God.
Consume everything within us that is not of You. Burn away pride. Burn away unforgiveness. Burn away lukewarmness. Let Your holiness purify us and let Your Spirit transform us into bold witnesses of Jesus Christ.
Father, awaken Your Church again. Raise up men and women filled with conviction, purity, boldness, love, and power. Let there be a fresh sound from heaven. Let there be a rushing mighty wind in our homes, our churches, our families, and our hearts.
We declare that we will not live powerless lives. We will not settle for dead religion. We will walk in the fullness of the Spirit, in intimacy with Jesus, and in the authority of the Word of God.
Fill us until our lives overflow with Your presence. Let the fire of revival begin in us. Make us dangerous to the kingdom of darkness and effective for the Kingdom of God.
We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over our lives, our families, our future, and our purpose.
And Father, turn us into another person through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In the mighty and matchless Name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.

Family, today we are reminded that Pentecost was never just a moment. It was the release of Heaven’s power upon surrendered believers. When the Holy Spirit was poured out in Acts 2, God was not raising up fearful, worried, defeated people. He was raising up bold sons and daughters who would live by faith, walk in power, and trust fully in the provision of their King.
We are living in shaking times. Economies are unstable. Fear is increasing. Pressure is mounting on families, finances, and minds. But hear this clearly: the people of God were never meant to live under the weight of this world system. We are citizens of another Kingdom.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:25: "Do not worry about your life."
Not because life will always be easy, but because your Father is faithful.
Worry is not faith.
Worry fixes the eyes on lack. Faith fixes the eyes on God. Fear says, “What if I don’t make it?” Faith says, “My God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Jesus said: "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." — Matthew 6:33
That is Kingdom provision. When the Kingdom becomes first, provision becomes a byproduct of obedience.
The spirit of mammon wants people bound by fear, pressure, greed, and survival. It tells people to trust money more than God. But when believers honour God with their tithes and offerings, we make a bold declaration before Heaven and hell: "Lord, You are my Source."
Tithing is not religion. It is an act of trust, surrender, and covenant. It is saying: “Father, my life is in Your hands.” “My provision is not tied to the economy.” “My future is not controlled by this world system.” “You are Jehovah Jireh.”
Family, the Holy Spirit did not come merely to give us emotional moments in church. He came to empower us to live differently. To think differently. To trust differently. To walk in bold faith while the world walks in fear.
Acts 1:8 says: "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you."
Power to overcome fear. Power to trust God fully. Power to walk in obedience. Power to live free from the grip of mammon.
Today, let faith arise again. Let fear break. Let worry bow. Let every anxious thought come under the authority of Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, today on this Pentecost Sunday, we thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You that You did not leave us powerless, helpless, or abandoned. You filled Your people with power from on high.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we surrender every fear, every burden, every financial pressure, every anxious thought, and every worry into Your hands. We declare that we will not live by fear, but by faith. We will not be governed by the systems of this world, but by the Kingdom of God.
Break every spirit of lack, poverty, fear, greed, and mammon over our lives in Jesus’ Name. Let every chain of anxiety be shattered by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Father, as we honour You with our tithes and offerings, we thank You that You are opening doors no man can shut. Rebuke the devourer for our sake. Release wisdom, favour, opportunities, promotion, provision, and breakthrough over Your people.
Holy Spirit, breathe fresh fire upon us again. Let bold faith arise within our hearts. Teach us to trust God completely. Teach us to walk in obedience and surrender.
We declare today: Jesus is Lord over our finances. Jesus is Lord over our homes. Jesus is Lord over our future.
We are not abandoned. We are not forsaken. We are children of the Most High God.
And Father, let Your people walk in supernatural peace, supernatural provision, and supernatural faith in this season.

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE
2 Timothy 2:15–16 (NKJV)
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness."
DEVOTIONAL
Listen to me very carefully. Paul is not calling Timothy into academic excellence. He is calling him into a life that is approved before God.
"Be diligent" — the Greek word is spoudazō. It means to make haste, to exert oneself, to endeavor with strenuous effort. This is not casual engagement with Scripture. This is not a Sunday morning skim through. This is a life fully surrendered to truth, a life that says, "Lord, I will not rest until I know You, not just know about You."
But immediately, Paul draws a boundary. "Shun profane and idle babblings." Avoid empty talk. Avoid discussions that sound spiritual but produce no transformation. Avoid arguments that feed pride but weaken obedience. Because truth without relationship produces religion. And religion without relationship produces nothing but noise.
So the true purpose of Scripture is not simply to know more. It is to know Jesus more deeply through His Word.
As Kenneth E. Hagin declared: "When you know the Word of God, it will change you." It will not leave you the same. It will confront you. It will transform you. It will draw you into the very heart of God.
THE WORD IS A PERSON
John 1:1 (NKJV)
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
The Word is not just written instruction on a page. The Word is a living Person, Jesus Christ Himself.
So when we open Scripture, we are not merely studying information. We are encountering Him. We are stepping into the presence of the Living God. We are not reading a biography; we are meeting the Author face to face.
ETERNAL LIFE IS TO KNOW HIM
John 17:3 (AMP)
"Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
Eternal life is not defined by how much theology you have memorized. It is not defined by how many verses you can quote. It is defined by how deeply you know Him.
To know Him is to walk with Him. To know Him is to respond to Him. To know Him is to be transformed by Him daily, consistently, relentlessly.
THE SIMPLICITY OF TRUTH
John 5:39–40 (MSG)
"You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you'll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me! And here I am, standing right in front of you, and you aren't willing to receive from me the life you say you want."
Jesus makes it devastatingly clear. The Scriptures point to Him. They testify of Him. They reveal Him. But it is possible, tragically possible, to study the Word with religious fervor and still miss the relationship the Word is calling you into.
You can have your head in the Bible and your heart far from God. You can be a scholar of Scripture and a stranger to the Savior.
THE WARNING: KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT INTIMACY
It is possible to:
- Know doctrine
- Understand theology
- Defend Scripture
- Win every argument
And yet still not know Jesus.
That is why Jesus gives this sobering, heart-stopping warning:
Matthew 7:23 (NKJV)
"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'"
The issue was never activity. The issue was never busyness. The issue was intimacy.
Not "you didn't know enough." But "I never knew you."
That should shake every one of us to the core. That should drive us to our knees. That should cause us to examine our hearts with holy fear and say, "Lord, do I truly know You? Or do I only know about You?"
REFLECTION
What am I truly pursuing when I open the Word?
Am I pursuing knowledge or am I pursuing Jesus?
Am I trying to be right or am I trying to be transformed?
Am I feeding information or am I feeding intimacy?
Because Scripture is not given to make us proud in knowledge. It is given to make us alive in Christ.
Philippians 3:10 (AMP)
"For my determined purpose is that I may know Him, that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly..."
That is the cry of the true believer. That is the heartbeat of the one who has encountered the living God. Not more facts. More fire. Not more information. More intimacy.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, I come before You with a surrendered heart. I repent for every time I have reduced Your Word to information, debate, or intellectual knowledge without true intimacy with You.
Today I ask You draw me back to the simplicity of knowing You. Strip away pride. Strip away religion without power. Strip away empty arguments and everything that competes with Your presence in my life.
Let Your Word become alive in me again. Let it not be letters on a page, but a living encounter with You. Teach me to hear Your voice when I read. Teach me to recognize Your presence when I pray. Teach me to walk with You daily, not occasionally.
Lord, I do not want to only know about You. I want to know You. Deeply. Personally. Consistently. Transform me until my life reflects Your heart. Let my life carry evidence that I truly know Jesus Christ.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
DECLARATION
I will pursue Jesus above knowledge.
I will not settle for religion without relationship.
I will be transformed by the living Word.
I will truly know Jesus and walk with Him daily.📖 DEVOTIONAL: KNOWING JESUS 🕊️ ANCHOR SCRIPTURE 2 Timothy 2:15–16 (NKJV) "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The issue was never activity. The issue was never busyness. The issue was intimacy. Not "you didn't know enough." But "I never knew you." That should shake every one of us to the core. That should drive us to our knees. That should cause us to examine our hearts with holy fear and say, "Lord, do I truly know You? Or do I only know about You?" 🧠 REFLECTION What am I truly pursuing when I open the Word? Am I pursuing knowledge or am I pursuing Jesus? Am I trying to be right or am I trying to be transformed? Am I feeding information or am I feeding intimacy? Because Scripture is not given to make us proud in knowledge. It is given to make us alive in Christ. Philippians 3:10 (AMP) "For my determined purpose is that I may know Him, that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly..." That is the cry of the true believer. That is the heartbeat of the one who has encountered the living God. Not more facts. More fire. Not more information. More intimacy. 🧎♂️ PRAYER Lord Jesus Christ, I come before You with a surrendered heart. 🔥 DECLARATION I will pursue Jesus above knowledge. I will not settle for religion without relationship. I will be transformed by the living Word. I will truly know Jesus and walk with Him daily.0 Comments 0 Shares 21 Views - “It is written.
