  • A Father’s Love vs. Our Obligation

What’s drawing you closer to Him?
    Is it because it’s a commandment—a rule, a principle, a “must”?
Yes, He is our Father, my Father, but why do we sometimes treat loving Him like an obligation?
Is it guilt because you messed up and want to make amends?
Or is it because you think it’s simply the “right” or “humane” thing to do?

    Really ask yourself:
Why am I building a relationship with my Father?

Maybe it’s because we were naturally born—almost pre-programmed—with that sense of fear, respect, and obligation.
It feels built into the air we breathe.
But really? Is that enough reason to reach for Him?

Let’s be honest—many of us don’t fully grasp what a true father–child relationship feels like.
    I know I didn’t.
I loved—and still love—my dad so much, but for years I feared him, almost like he was a monster.
And yet, I later discovered I was always my daddy’s little princess.

The greatest of all, though, is my Father above.
Not only does He love me with everything He is,
but He reminds me, over and over, that I am precious to Him—
that He always wants me home.

Funny how I read Ecclesiastes 2:8, where it talks about the obedience of the King.
    It made me pause.
Is my relationship with God just a responsibility?
Or do I genuinely love being His daughter?

Because honestly… I’m beginning to love it here.
