Scripture
Numbers 18:20 (NKJV)
Then the Lord said to Aaron: You shall have no inheritance in their land, nor shall you have any portion among them; I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.
Finding Satisfaction in God Alone
In this verse, God tells Aaron and the Levites that they will not receive land like the other tribes of Israel. Instead, their inheritance would be something far greater—God Himself. While others would enjoy physical property and possessions, the priests were called to find their joy, security, and reward in the Lord alone.
For believers today, this verse is a powerful reminder that true satisfaction is not found in material things but in relationship with God. The world measures success by what we own, but God measures fulfillment by who we know—Himself. When He becomes our portion, we experience a peace and contentment that no possession can provide.
