- AMERICANVISION.ORGEclipses, ‘Blood Moons,’ and Pre-Trib Anxiety - The American VisionIn September 2021, many people went into a frenzy when the United States Postal Service announced that their mail delivery service would become permanently slower. This new phenomenon is called Pre-Parcel Anxiety. “We live in a society where we build expectations and uphold perfectionism. We want things here and now. We want efficiency and struggle with patience,” psychotherapist Owen O’Kane explains. Today, we’re seeing what I’m calling Pre-Trib Anxiety. The world is in such a mess that anticipation of the always-imminent rapture is making people anxious.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 25 مشاهدة

- Who is the intended audience?Who is the intended audience?AMERICANVISION.ORGIs 2 Thessalonians 1:7 a Second Coming Passage? - The American VisionAudience relevance is an important consideration when dealing with the interpretation of any text. This is especially true when interpreting prophecy. Who’s the intended audience? This is especially true when interpreting Matthew 24. The use of the second person plural (you) unmistakably applies to those in Jesus’ audience. We know this because there is an audience: “And Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 28 مشاهدة1

- How is God glorified by a rose that He plants in a forest so remote that no man or angel will ever see it? He is glorified because He sees it. How is God glorified by those servants who are hidden from all notoriety and fame? Because He sees them, knows their way, and rejoices. - Paul WasherHow is God glorified by a rose that He plants in a forest so remote that no man or angel will ever see it? - AMERICANVISION.ORGWe're Already in God's Kingdom - The American VisionGary continues discussing Pastor MacArthur’s recent comments about Christian Nationalism. Does the Bible forbid Christians from being involved in politics? It would be a hard case to prove since there are numerous books of the Bible that are filled with politics—from Joshua, Judges, and 1 and 2 Samuel to 1 and 2 Kings and the Old Testament Prophets. King David is confronted by Nathan the Prophet (2 Sam. 12), Solomon is shown violating nearly every biblical admonition regarding kings, leading to his abandonment of the covenant (1 Kings 10–11), and kings are given direct instructions on what standard they should use in making decisions of a civil/ political nature (Deut.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 14 مشاهدة
- AMERICANVISION.ORGPutting the New Testament Record to the Test - The American VisionLast Sunday’s sermon (3/10/2024) at our church was from Mark 15. Verse 21 caught my attention: “They pressed into service a passer-by coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene (the father of Alexander and Rufus), to bear His cross.” Biblical skeptics call for historical proof that Jesus existed and that the NT record is authentic. Many of these critics contend that the Gospels were written very late into the first century.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 16 مشاهدة

- "If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays (astrape) gives you light.” Luke 11:36 ESV
The Greek word "astrape" means brightness, shining, rays, luster or lightning. Given the context of this verse, the word "rays" is a good translation when talking about light coming from a lamp. It wouldn't make any sense to use the word "lightning" here.
"For as the lightning (astrape) comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." Matthew 24:27 ESV
Notice how most translations use the word "lightning" here, which doesnt really fit with the context. Lightning doesn't come from the east and shine to the west. The context is talking about the sun (and the Son).
A better translation would be the word rays, or brightness. The verse is depicting the coming of the sun from the east and it's brightness that shines to the west. This represents the coming of the Son of Man in full Glory."If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays (astrape) gives you light.” Luke 11:36 ESV The Greek word "astrape" means brightness, shining, rays, luster or lightning. - AMERICANVISION.ORGChristian Civilization Matters - The American VisionPastor John MacArthur denounced Christian nationalism insofar as it is defined as an attempt to usher in the Kingdom of God on Earth through political means. “There is no such thing as Christian nationalism,” MacArthur said during a question-and-answer period last month at Grace Community Church in Los Angeles. “The Kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 11 مشاهدة
