  • Are You Answering the Call of the Lord?

Hearing God’s call is only the beginning—answering it is what truly matters. Many of us grew up hearing the saying, “If you hear someone calling your name and no one is around, don’t answer—it’s the devil.” But what if that voice is God? What if the enemy’s greatest tactic is convincing us not to respond when the Lord is calling us into purpose?

Fear is one of the biggest hindrances to ministry. It silences callings, delays destinies, and keeps us from walking in the fullness of what God has ordained. But Scripture shows us the power of responding to His voice.

In 1 Samuel 3, the young Samuel hears his name being called in the night. At first, he doesn’t recognize it as the Lord, but under Eli’s guidance, he finally responds, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10). Because Samuel answered, God revealed great things to him, establishing him as a prophet to the nation.

Just as God called Samuel, He calls each of us today. Isaiah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” The question is, are we making ourselves available to hear and respond?

Don’t let fear, doubt, or distractions keep you from answering God’s call. He has plans for you, and when you say yes, He will equip you for the journey ahead (Jeremiah 29:11, 2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy wants to keep you silent, but God is calling—will you answer?
