## A Proclamation of Truth: From Captivity to Commission

**To the Body of Christ and the Seekers of Truth,**

Grace and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I come before you not with a spirit of bitterness or a desire for revenge, but with a heart set on the "rooftop proclamation" of truth. After **14 years** of service, I walked away from **House of Prayer Christian Church (HOPCC)** in **June 2022**. I am not a man seeking to settle a score; I am a watchman protecting the sheep by exposing the "ravaging wolves" that hide behind the pulpit.

### The 14-Year Shadow of HOPCC

For over a decade, I was deeply entrenched in a high-control system led by **Rony Denis**. Like many, I was drawn in by a vision of lifting up the outcast, but the reality was a slow drift into an occult-like environment where one man’s voice superseded the Word of God.

I gave my life to this organization. I exhausted my **Montgomery GI Bill** to pay for 13 years of seminary and ministry training that was used as a tool for exploitation. I served in the trenches—cleaning bathrooms, remodeling churches, street preaching, and feeding the poor—all while being subjected to loyalty tests and psychological gatekeeping.

Under the direct control of Rony Denis, I was forced into **two prearranged marriages**. These were not unions of God, but tactical setups designed to maintain control and eventually destroy my qualifications for ministry. When I finally chose the biblical path of integrity over the "caste system" of HOPCC, they moved to dismantle my life, my reputation, and my relationship with my children.

### Rejecting the "Caste System" of Religion

The greatest tragedy is that I now see these same high-control, "CEO-style" techniques—characteristic of the **NAR/7 Mountain Mandate** and "Purpose Driven" models—infecting nearly every corner of the modern establishment.

I refuse to remain silent while lives are destroyed. I refuse to fellowship with those who call themselves "brothers" yet remain unrepentant in their corruption. Why is it that the religious world can stomach men like **Mike Bickle** after patterns of abuse, yet they demand I be "forever barred" because of a history of remarriage that was largely engineered by a cult?

If the Apostle Paul could be redeemed after being a murderer, and King Manasseh could find mercy after his abominations, then I stand firmly in the grace that Jesus offers. I am not seeking "accreditation" from corrupt institutions; I am seeking the approval of the Living God.

### Our Mission: A Living God Service Church

Alongside **Apostle Miheret**, we have established a ministry where the **Five-Fold gifts** are used for edification, not hierarchy.

* **Transparency over Tradition:** We are moving forward as a for-profit entity specifically to avoid the 501c3 denominational chains that disguise slavery as "accountability."
* **The Voice of the Poor:** We believe motherhood and womanhood are spiritual gifts, and that the "lowly" deserve a seat at the table of leadership.
* **True Discipleship:** We want to train missionaries of Christlike character who are free to express their faith, not trapped in seats of "ever learning" under a human dictator.

### A Call to Fellowship

We seek partnerships with those who value sincerity over certificates. If you have been abused by the religious machine, or if you are tired of "straining at a gnat" while leaders swallow camels of corruption, join us. We are building a community of worship, soul-winning, and true, scriptural integrity.

I have fought to keep my conscience clear toward God and man. I hope you can receive me not as a "novice," but as a veteran of the faith who has survived the fire and come out with the smell of smoke only to testify of the Deliverer.

**In the Unfailing Grip of Grace,**

**Pastor Jesse Preston**
*A Living God Service Church*

**Warmest Greetings in the Spirit,**

May the Lord scatter the proud in their high-mindedness and exalt you in your low estate. We are praying for your strength and your boldness in this hour. You are highly favored, you are blessed, and the truth has indeed set us free!

**With Sincere Love and Prayers,**

  • **Unmasking the Gatekeepers: A Warning to Independent Ministries**

Beware when you are starting an independent ministry. Large, established churches often do not respect smaller ministries, and some will actively try to distract you from the work God gave you to do.

    I. The Hidden Weapon and Historical Irony
Many large church leaders quickly claim titles like "Apostle" or "Prophet" for themselves. Yet, they turn around and use ancient church rules to trap newer ministers. They do this using an extra-biblical early Christian document called the Didache, written in the late 1st or early 2nd century AD.

Ironically, the Didache is clear historical proof that the offices of Apostle and Prophet continued long after the Book of Acts. However, Chapter 11 of the Didache gives a strict rule: if a traveling teacher or prophet stays more than two days, they should be considered a false prophet who abandoned their own work.

II. How Big Ministries Set the Trap
Today, big ministries misuse this historical rule as a weapon. They will invite you to speak, promise to help you, or act like they want to partner with you. Inexperienced ministers often think this is an open door from God.

Do not fall for this setup. It is often a calculated move to drag you away from your own assignment. If you stay away too long preparing or visiting, they use the Didache’s rule to tell their congregation that you are not a real minister because you abandoned your own flock. If you do not know early church history, you might end up confused for years about what went wrong.

III. Practical Advice for Inexperienced Ministers
First, keep your visits short. If you accept an invitation, preach your message and go straight back to work in your own ministry.

Second, remember that it is okay to say no. Turning down invitations protects your time and keeps you from getting distracted or worn out by the emotional back-and-forth.

Third, stay focused on your home foundation. Stick to your schedule and keep building what God handed you.

    IV. Biblical Perspective on Discernment
Scripture repeatedly warns us to be wise in how we deal with other leaders and churches.

    A. Jesus warned us about deceit in Matthew 10:16, saying, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

    B. Paul warned in Galatians 2:4 about people who pretended to be allies just to spy on and control others.

    C. Paul encourages our persistence in 1 Corinthians 15:58: "Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

While 1 John 4:1 tells believers to test spiritual leaders, setting sneaky traps to make a small ministry fail is maliciousness, not spiritual discernment. Refuse to quit, follow God, and stay faithful. God will build your ministry in His timing!

  • A brotherhood that tested every piece of my soul in combat never prepared me for the pain of having my family stuck in limbo.

My name is Jesse Preston. I spent 14 years on Active Duty in the U.S. Army, Airborne and Air Assault qualified. I served three combat tours in Iraq between 2003 and 2010, and a tour in South Korea in 2007. I bled, sacrificed, and gave over a decade of my life in service to the United States because I believed in honor, loyalty, and standing up for what is right.

Now, I am fighting the hardest battle of my life—and it isn’t on a battlefield. It’s for my own family.

Since November 2023, I have been living abroad because I refuse to abandon my wife, Miheret Beksissa, and our baby daughter, Jessica. Imagine if I had listened to the system and waited back home in America alone, staring at an empty nursery, thousands of miles away from my infant child and the woman God gave me to protect. A combat veteran doesn’t leave his family behind.

We did everything right. We followed every single law. We poured our hard-earned money—over $4,000 just to begin the I-130 and DS-260 with our lawyer, paid every required government fee, and paid another $1,500 for our daughter’s CRBA and U.S. passport. Jessica is a U.S. citizen. Miheret was approved for her immigrant visa through our marriage.

Our journey started in January 2024, and we were so close to coming home. But because immigrant visas for Ethiopians were paused under the current administration policy, our life is on hold. The process is dragging out indefinitely, leaving us stranded in uncertainty.

We are devout, faithful Christians who just want to raise our daughter in the country I wore the uniform to defend. Every day, I look at my daughter and my wife, and my heart breaks knowing that the very system I served is keeping us from starting our life together on American soil.

Please, brothers and sisters, pray for us. Pray that the doors are opened, that red tape is cut, and that our family can finally go home to America together. If this touches your heart, please share our story.

    Pray for us!
