  • I write this from my bospital bed this morning, thinking of how my Heavenly Father is always with me.

Praise God our most High and Holy Creator. He is so good, so faithful, so true. He has never left me. In all my good times I feel him with me. In my lowest despair I feel him even more. His presence is felt no matter what I am facing in life. How wonderful to know I can turn to Him in all the trials of life. Thank you precious Lord for always being there. Praise Him on the mountain as well as the lowest valleys. Oh my dear friends, if you don't know him then why don't you come to him today? Life is hard but with Him you have Him to turn to in your deepest despair. Repent of your sins, believe Jesus is God's son. Believe Jesus came to earth as a human and gave His life to be a sacrifice for our sins and on that glorious 3rd day Praise God Hallelujah that big stone was rolled away and Jesus walked out of that tomb. He now sits on His throne at the right side of our Heavenly Father. Invite Jesus into your heart to live. I'm not saying life will be easy and all your troubles will be over. I'm saying that with Jesus you have hope, you have life eternal, you have comfort and peace, you will never face anything alone, without him you are truly alone and your future is nothing but an eternity in a burning lake of fire and being forever cut off from God. God loves us, He wants us all to be with Him. My heart is so full of love, peace, joy, hope, and happiness all because of my Father Adonai and my divine Savior Yeshua. You have nothing until you know God's love. I love everyone and my prayer is that you feel this too. My life's goal is that after death my life truly begins sitting at the feet of my Savior for all of eternity. God bless you. I love you.

  • Faith's Checkbook
    Charles H. Spurgeon
    June 3, 2024
    Sure-Footedness

The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hind's feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. ( Habakkuk 3:19)

This confidence of the man of God is tantamount to a promise; for that which faith is persuaded of is the purpose of God. The prophet had to traverse the deep places of poverty and famine, but he went down hill without slipping, for the Lord gave him standing. By-and-by he was called to the high places of the hills of conflict; and he was no more afraid to go up than to go down.

See! The Lord lent him strength. Nay, Jehovah Himself was his strength. Think of that: the Almighty God Himself becomes our strength!

Note, that the Lord also gave him sure-footedness. The hinds leap over rock and crag, never missing their foothold. Our Lord will give us grace to follow the most difficult paths of duty without a stumble. He can fit our foot for the crags, so that we shall be at home where apart from God we should perish.

One of these days we shall be called to higher places still. Up yonder we shall climb, even to the mount of God, the high places where the shining ones are gathered. Oh, what feet are the feet of faith, by which, following the Hind of the Morning, we shall ascend into the hill of the Lord!

  • Satan’s Devices

To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:10-11

How many people do you know that have trouble forgiving others? How sad is it when we hear about siblings not speaking to each other for years over something that neither one of them can remember? That is not to say there are not things that we should not separate over, but those things should be limited to what God has said - essential doctrines and those who will not listen to correction.

However, the devil will use bitterness and unforgiveness to cause divisions in our families and churches. If he can get a foot in the door through something that is insignificant and turn it into a big issue, he can cause huge problems. The Apostle Paul knew that any issue that remains unresolved could allow the devil to get an advantage. We need to be careful to have an attitude of forgiveness. We need to remember any offense against us is much less than our offenses against God.

Do not be ignorant of Satan’s devices. Have you been holding a grudge against someone? Do not let it turn into a foothold for the devil. We need to forgive and forget, or he will take advantage. Christ has forgiven us of so much; let us show others some of the forgiveness that was offered to us.

Praise ye the LORD. Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the LORD, [that] delighteth greatly in his commandments. (Psalm 112:1)

Blessed is the man who repents and believes! God shall give Him that rest promised from the beginning. Yes, the believer shall receive blessing upon blessing in the very gospel promise of Christ Himself. By His obedience unto righteousness, even we to be made righteous. By His death unto the cross, even we are made just. By His resurrection unto life, even we are made unto new life. And by His ascension to His heavenly throne, even we are exalted to His right hand. His eternal Sabbath rest is the Sabbath rest of we, His people. Indeed, we are blessed! Beyond imagining are we blessed!

The New Covenant Promise of a New Heart

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26)

To live in obedience to the will of God, man needs more than his own best efforts and intentions. The history of Israel emphatically demonstrates this. God gave His law. He commanded them, saying, "Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them" (Ezekiel 20:19). Israel had promised to obey. "All that the LORD has said we will do, and be obedient" (Exodus 24:7). Nevertheless, they failed miserably. "Notwithstanding, the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments" (Ezekiel 20:21).

In order to live obedient lives, people need a new life from God, followed by an understanding in how to develop that new life. Here, we see a promise from God to supply that new life. "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you." These promises are related to the new covenant of grace that the prophets proclaimed for Israel some day. "Behold, the days are coming…when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel…not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt" (Jeremiah 31:31-32). The book of Hebrews elaborates on this new covenant of grace and applies it to the church today: "Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us" (Hebrews 10:19-20).

When anyone embraces the grace of God offered in Jesus Christ (the mediator, the great High Priest of the new covenant), that person is born again by the Spirit of God. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:6). This is a necessity. "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). Human "flesh-birth" brings with it a hard spiritual heart (a dead spirit). Spiritual new birth from God replaces this hard heart (this dead, non-responsive spirit). "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you." Think of our desperate need for this work of God that brings us a new heart, a new life. Those not born again are described as living "in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God… because of the hardening of their heart" (Ephesians 4:17-18). Yet, whoever relies upon the grace of God offered in Jesus Christ becomes a new-born child of God. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Dear Lord, giver of new life, I praise You for replacing my old, hard, dead heart with a new, responsive, living heart. Now I long to grow in the newness of Christ, Amen.

We are promised that our sufferings will bear a fruit greater than the power of the suffering: we are promised genuine hope that does not disappoint! What glorious fruit! So then is suffering counted by Paul a reason for rejoicing!

Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12)

The crown of life is a promise that God grants to those who love Him. Though we endure tremendous trials and tribulations, we will not be crushed. Our suffering will end in the glory of Jesus Christ and we will receive the crown of life. What a beautiful ending for this life! May God be glorified in our daily trials. May we seek His face and continue to be molded into His perfect image.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

The Lazy River is where the moms and dads want to stay at a Water Park. The kids like it, too, but they want to go on the daredevil slides and wave pools as well. The current in the Lazy River is just strong enough to propel your tube down the river but not so strong that you cannot easily get in and out of the river. But you know the current is there, especially if you get out of your tube and try to stand still. Other tubers get a little angry when you try to go against the current, and you might bump into them as you try to go upstream.

It seems a lot of believers take the Lazy River approach. They want to go with the current, float downstream, not make a fuss, and not really take a stand.

When you try standing for your beliefs, you will notice the current is uncomfortable. As you attempt to go against other people’s beliefs, it gets downright frustrating. The current will pull at you to go ahead, kick your feet back, and do nothing.

But this world is not our home. This planet with its sweeping current is not even to be compared with what is awaiting us as believers.

Do you feel a little uncomfortable? Does it seem like you are going upstream in a downstream world? Get used to it. Going against the flow is not easy, but the retirement benefits are out of this world.

    Morning Reading

    Psalm 45:7--Thou hatest wickedness.

"Be ye angry, and sin not." There can hardly be goodness in a man if he be not angry at sin; he who loves truth must hate every false way. How our Lord Jesus hated it when the temptation came! Thrice it assailed Him in different forms, but ever He met it with, "Get thee behind me, Satan." He hated it in others; none the less fervently because He showed His hate oftener in tears of pity than in words of rebuke; yet what language could be more stern, more Elijah-like, than the words, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer." He hated wickedness, so much that He bled to wound it to the heart; He died that it might die; He was buried that He might bury it in His tomb; and He rose that He might for ever trample it beneath His feet. Christ is in the Gospel, and that Gospel is opposed to wickedness in every shape. Wickedness arrays itself in fair garments, and imitates the language of holiness; but the precepts of Jesus, like His famous scourge of small cords, chase it out of the temple, and will not tolerate it in the Church. So, too, in the heart where Jesus reigns, what war there is between Christ and Belial! And when our Redeemer shall come to be our Judge, those thundering words, "Depart, ye cursed" which are, indeed, but a prolongation of His life-teaching concerning sin, shall manifest His abhorrence of iniquity. As warm as is His love to sinners, so hot is His hatred of sin; as perfect as is His righteousness, so complete shall be the destruction of every form of wickedness. O thou glorious champion of right, and destroyer of wrong, for this cause hath God, even Thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows.

  • Much of what we pray for is in the will of God, but our timing is off.

The vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.
    HABAKKUK 2:3
