“And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.” The Apostle was saying that getting drunk would lead to wasteful and reckless indulgence. He quickly instructed us to be filled with the Spirit. He contrasted being drunk with being filled with the Spirit. For the sake of understanding, he’s saying get high on the Holy Spirit. Lol, you read it correctly. Instead of pleasure that would alter your emotions, impair your judgment, and make you lose coordination, get full of the Spirit and have its attendant side effects, sweet side effects!
