- “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)
Thought Of The Day...
Jeremiah 33:3 is often called “God’s telephone number” because it is an open invitation from the Lord Himself to pray. At the time these words were spoken, Jeremiah was in prison, confined because he faithfully proclaimed God’s truth. In the midst of isolation, pain, and uncertainty, God gave Jeremiah this promise: “Call unto me.”
This verse teaches us several deep truths:
• An Invitation to Call
God does not force His children to pray, but He lovingly invites us. Prayer is not only our duty—it is our privilege. No matter the prison we may find ourselves in—fear, sickness, financial hardship, or emotional struggles—the door of communication with God is always open.
• A Promise of Response
God declares, “I will answer thee.” Not maybe, not sometimes, but with certainty. His answer may not always be what we expect, but it will always be what we need. Our Father delights in responding to the cries of His children.
• A Revelation Beyond Understanding
God promises to show us “great and mighty things.” These are things beyond our wisdom, beyond human ability, and beyond earthly sight. When we pray, God gives us divine insight, peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), and breakthroughs we could never achieve on our own.
This verse reminds us that prayer is not a ritual, but a divine encounter. It is the channel through which God reveals His power and His secrets. When you feel stuck, remember: prayer opens locked doors, releases divine wisdom, and draws you into the heart of God.
Something To Think About...
• What area of your life feels like a prison right now? Have you truly called out to God about it?
• Do you believe God’s promise that He will answer?
• What “mighty things” might God be waiting to reveal if you commit more earnestly to prayer?
Prayer...
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the powerful invitation to call upon You. I confess that sometimes I lean on my own strength instead of seeking Your face. Forgive me, Lord, for the times I’ve neglected the privilege of prayer. Today, I come humbly before You, believing that You not only hear me but You promise to answer.
Reveal to me, O God, the great and mighty things that I cannot see with my natural eyes. Show me the path to walk, the wisdom to apply, and the faith to hold on when life feels overwhelming. Break every prison that tries to keep me bound—whether it be fear, doubt, or despair—and remind me of Your unfailing presence.
I trust that Your answers will come in Your perfect timing and in Your perfect way. May my heart stay tuned to Your voice, and may I walk in the confidence that You are the God who hears and the God who answers. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.0 Comments 0 Shares 35 Views -
