"The false prophets claimed to speak in God's name. They claimed to serve Him. They spoke words of hope and prosperity. They were popular. They were successful. They brought people together. They brought unity. And still, they were false – they were preaching a compromising disregard of God's commandments. Meanwhile, the true prophets spoke in God's name as God actually instructed them. They served Him. They spoke words of repentantance and rebuke and of warning regarding the calamity (the shaking) that God promised if the people refused to listen. They were unpopular. They were unsuccessful by worldly (churchy) standards. They gathered the righteous remnant in holy separation from the crowd. They were considered problematic by those committed to rejecting God's commands. And still, they were true – they were preaching true relationship with God that SHOULD lead to wholeheartedly obeying Him. My friends, which of the above two examples would the churches largely embrace as 'doing big things for God'?
