Abner Romero is a Graphic Artist graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina campus, with a master's degree in education and Visual Arts Teacher with more than 20 years of experience. In this last decade he has dedicated to teaching Illustration and Animation at the Central Specialized School of Visual Arts of the Puerto Rico Department of Education and Professor at the Puerto Rico Museum of Art. After 10 years teaching animation, he decided to write his first animated short film entitled “Creole Seis Corrido” in the Stop motion technique, this short film has obtained eighteen laurels of which five are international awards.This Short was official Selection November 2022 of "Cinemás Corto" in Puerto Rico. His Second Short "Bomba" dancing of Cuembé an Seis Corrido has obtained seven laurels of which three are international awards. His third short "El Caballero" was selected at Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR) for"Hacedores de Caminos" the first exhibition for the arts and education from December 8 2022 to to February 26, 2023. His Fourth Short Film “Pájaro Lindo Zuum Zumm” obtained two laurels from official selections in Cine Mas Corto for the month of April 2023 and LUSCA FILM FESTIVAL to be held on October 18, 2023 at Caribbean Cinemas in Plaza Guayabo. It tells the story of the plena in the Romero family and captures one of the last plenas that my uncle Evelio Romero Rivera sang accompanied by Victor “Tico” Fuentes, This documentary was selected at the Palma Film Festival in Madrid and Puente Cinematográfico in Barcelona in 2024.
He was baptized in the Catholic faith, where he also took catechism at an early age and made his first communion in the San Patricio Church in the town of Loiza. At the age of 16 he converted to the Pentecostal faith in the New Jerusalem Church in the Medianía Alta Sector where he fought for 19 years and studied at the Theological Institute of Assembly of Christian Churches District of Puerto Rico. During that time he took courses in biblical hermeneutics and history of the church at the Mizpa Theological University and took workshops on Biblical Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the Inter-American University with Professors Edesio Sanchez Cetina and Eliecer Ronda. He took homiletic workshops with Prof. Pablo Jiménez, Dr Samuel Pagán, Dr. Samuel Sullivan among others. On the other hand, he developed as a teacher of biblical studies, director of education and superintendent of biblical school. He is currently a certified Sunday school teacher and musician at the Church of God MB Jaweh Jire in the municipality of Carolina. Twenty-eight years of service to God were completed on March 11, 2025. I owe everything to my Lord Jesus.
