THERE IS HOPE Your present situation is not your final story. God can change what looks finished. 2. DON'T GIVE UP You may have experienced disappointment, loss or delay, but don't allow it to kill your hope. God still has a future for you. 3. GOD CAN RESTORE What was lost can be restored according to God's purpose and timing. A setback is not the same as the end. 4. LOOK FORWARD Don't spend your whole life looking at yesterday. QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Obedience is love expressed through action, and God's blessings follow the path of faithful obedience.” DAY'S REFLECTION Deuteronomy says “hearken diligently”—meaning to listen carefully and take God's Word seriously. It is not enough to hear God's instructions; we must “observe and do” them. Jesus connects love with obedience: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” True love for Christ is demonstrated by how we live, not merely by what we say. Life experience teaches us that ignoring instructions can bring unnecessary trouble, while following the right instructions can protect us and lead us to better outcomes. In the same way, God's commandments are not designed to restrict us but to guide and protect us. Obedience may require sacrifice, patience, or discipline, but it positions us to walk in God's will and experience His favour. GOD HEARS THE GROANING OF THE PRISONER He Sees • He Hears • He Delivers ANCHOR SCRIPTURE Psalm 102:19–20 (KJV) “For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death.” 1. GOD SEES YOUR SITUATION You may feel forgotten, but God sees you. He looks down from heaven and knows what you are going through. 2. GOD HEARS YOUR CRY Your prayer may be quiet, but heaven hears it. Your tears may be hidden from people, but not from God. 3. GOD CAN BREAK BONDAGE The Scripture says He comes “to loose those that are appointed to death.” What looks impossible to man is not impossible with God. 4. DON'T GIVE UP Keep praying. Keep trusting. QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “God has an appointed time, but preparation determines whether you are ready for the opportunity.” DAY'S REFLECTION Ecclesiastes reminds us that “to every thing there is a season, and a time.” Life has different seasons—waiting, learning, working, growing, and receiving. Paul says a person must “purge himself” to become a “vessel unto honour.” To purge means to remove attitudes, habits, relationships, and behaviours that make us unfit for God's purpose. “Sanctified” means set apart for God, while “meet for the Master's use” means useful and ready for His service. Life experience shows that opportunities often come suddenly, but successful preparation usually happens quietly. Do not wait for your season before preparing; prepare because your season is coming. To “acknowledge” God is to include Him in every area of life, while “commit” means placing your plans, decisions, and future into His hands. Life teaches us that our plans can change unexpectedly. What looks right today may lead to trouble tomorrow. PROVE ALL THINGS Test It • Keep What Is Good ANCHOR SCRIPTURE 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” 1. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING Not everything you hear, see or are told is true. Faith does not cancel wisdom. Test what you receive. 2. TEST IT BY GOD'S WORD Before accepting a teaching, advice or spiritual claim, compare it with Scripture. If it contradicts God's Word, don't hold on to it. 3. KEEP WHAT IS GOOD After testing, hold firmly to what is true, useful and godly. Don't throw away the good because you discovered the bad. 4. Isaiah reminds us that God can “do a new thing.” Sometimes we miss God's new opportunity because we remain focused on an old season. THE SPIDER: SMALL BUT WISE Never Underestimate Small Beginnings ANCHOR SCRIPTURE Proverbs 30:28 (KJV) “The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.” 1. SMALL DOES NOT MEAN USELESS The spider is tiny, yet it can find its way into a king's palace. Your size or background does not determine your potential. 2. BE DILIGENT The spider keeps working and building its web. Small, consistent effort can produce great results. 3. USE WHAT YOU HAVE The spider has no great strength, but it uses its ability wisely. Don't wait for everything to be perfect. Start with what you have. 4. AIM HIGH The spider is found even in “kings' palaces.” Think beyond your present situation. Your beginning may be small, but your destination can be great. KEY LESSON 1. Don't despise small beginnings. 2. Use your gifts wisely. 3. Be consistent. 4. Keep improving. 5. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day." Isaiah 30:21 (KJV) "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “When God leads, you may not know the whole journey, but you can trust the One who knows the way.” DAY'S REFLECTION Life is full of choices. Every day we decide where to go, what to pursue, whom to trust, and what to avoid. The challenge is that knowing what we want is not always the same as knowing what God wants. David prayed, “Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.” The words “shew,” “teach,” and “lead” reveal a humble heart that recognises its need for divine direction. To ask God to “shew” His ways is to seek His perspective. To “teach” means to allow His Word to instruct and correct us. To “lead” means to surrender our direction to Him rather than insisting on our own way. David also says, “on thee do I wait all the day.” Waiting on God requires patience. Sometimes God gives immediate direction; at other times, He requires us to wait until the right time becomes clear. Isaiah 30:21 gives a powerful picture of God's guidance: “This is the way, walk ye in it.” God does not merely want to show us the right path; He wants us to walk in it. Direction becomes useful when we obey it. Life experience teaches us that a wrong turn can cost time, resources, relationships, and opportunities. But seeking God's direction before making major decisions can save us from unnecessary trouble. Prayer, Scripture, godly counsel, and a willing heart help us discern the path God is showing us. God's guidance may sometimes lead us away from what looks attractive or comfortable. Do not confuse an easy path with God's path. The right way is the way that agrees with God's truth and purpose. Today, don't rush ahead of God. Ask Him to show you His way, teach you His truth, and direct your steps. Seek His direction. Listen carefully. Obey faithfully. TRUST GOD ALWAYS Don't trust God only when things are going well. Trust Him in good times and bad times. 2. GOD NEVER CHANGES People may disappoint you. Circumstances may change. But God remains faithful. Your confidence should be in God, not in circumstances. 3. GOD IS YOUR STRENGTH When your strength is finished, God's strength is not. Psalm 46:1 (KJV) “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” 4. KEEP YOUR FAITH Don't allow fear, pressure or disappointment to make you give up. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Surrender your life to God, renew your mind, and commit your plans to Him.” DAY'S REFLECTION A new month gives us a fresh opportunity to surrender, reset, and refocus. Romans 12:1 calls us to present ourselves to God as a “living sacrifice.” Unlike an offering that is given once and forgotten, a living sacrifice means continually yielding our lives, choices, plans, and desires to God. Paul says, “be not conformed to this world.” To conform means to allow outside pressures to shape our thinking and behaviour. The world will constantly tell us what to value, pursue, and imitate. But believers are called to follow God's standards. Instead, Scripture says, “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Transformation begins from within. When God's Word changes our thinking, it changes our attitudes, decisions, habits, and ultimately our lives. Then Proverbs 16:3 gives us a practical key: “Commit thy works unto the LORD.” To commit means to entrust or hand over completely. It does not mean abandoning responsibility; it means doing our part while trusting God with the outcome. Many people make plans and then ask God to bless them afterward. Biblical wisdom teaches us to bring our plans to God first. When our desires are surrendered to Him, He establishes our thoughts and helps bring clarity and stability to our decisions. Life experience shows that plans made without proper direction can produce unnecessary stress and disappointment. But when we seek God's will, we gain wisdom to know what to pursue, what to change, and what to leave behind. As September begins, don't simply make new plans—give God your plans. Don't just seek new opportunities—seek God's direction. Don't allow the pressures of the world to shape your identity—allow God's Word to renew your mind. Surrender. Renew. Commit. QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Do not stop because the journey is difficult; keep pressing until you reach God's appointed finish line.” DAY'S REFLECTION Life is not only about how we start; it is also about how we finish. Paul, looking back over his life and ministry, confidently declared, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” The word “fight” reminds us that the Christian journey requires spiritual determination. There will be opposition, temptation, disappointment, discouragement, and seasons when continuing becomes difficult. But a believer must not surrender the faith because the road becomes challenging. “I have finished my course” speaks of completing the assignment God gave him. Every person has responsibilities, opportunities, and purposes that God expects them to fulfil. We should not spend our lives comparing our race with someone else's. Run your course faithfully. Paul also says, “I have kept the faith.” To keep means to preserve, guard, and remain faithful. Circumstances may change, people may disappoint us, and prayers may take longer than expected, but our confidence in God must remain. Philippians 3:14 adds, “I press toward the mark.” To press means to pursue with determination and earnest effort. Paul was not looking backward at past achievements; he was moving forward toward “the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Life experience teaches us that many people begin with enthusiasm but struggle to finish. A runner may start strongly but victory requires endurance until the end. Likewise, our Christian journey requires consistency—not merely occasional passion. As we come to the end of August, take a moment to reflect. There may have been victories, failures, delays, disappointments, and answered prayers. Whatever happened, do not stop moving forward. Learn from yesterday, remain faithful today, and press toward what God has ahead. Paul's greatest reward was not earthly recognition but “a crown of righteousness” from the Lord. This reminds us that faithful service to God is never wasted. Even when people do not notice our sacrifices, God sees them. Therefore, finish strong. Keep your faith. Keep your integrity. Keep serving. Keep praying. Keep pursuing Christ. The goal is not merely to begin well, but to finish faithfully. Paul says, “whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” The key word “whatsoever” shows that every area of life matters to God—not only church activities or prayer, but also our work, family, relationships, speech, decisions, and daily conduct. To glorify God means to honour, praise, and bring recognition to His goodness through the way we live. Before making a decision, we can ask: “Will this honour God?” Jesus similarly commands, “Let your light so shine before men.” Light reveals what is hidden and provides direction in darkness. As Christians, our words, attitudes, integrity, kindness, forgiveness, and good works should make God's character visible to others. Jesus does not say that we should shine so people will praise us. He says they should see our good works and “glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Our lives should point beyond ourselves to God. Life experience teaches us that people often remember what they see more than what they hear. A person may preach a powerful message, but if their daily conduct contradicts their words, their testimony loses credibility. Conversely, simple acts of honesty, kindness, humility, patience, and faithfulness can become powerful witnesses. Therefore, Christianity must be visible in our everyday behaviour. At work, be trustworthy. At home, be loving. In difficult situations, remain truthful. When offended, practise forgiveness. When blessed, remain humble. When given an opportunity to help, do good. You may be the only example of Christ that someone encounters today. Let your life shine—not for personal applause, but for God's glory. QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “When your strength is exhausted, God's strength can carry you forward.” DAY'S REFLECTION Life is a journey, and every journey has moments of strength as well as moments of weariness. There are times when responsibilities become heavy, prayers seem delayed, and the road ahead appears longer than expected. Isaiah reminds us that God does not ignore the weary: “He giveth power to the faint.” The word “faint” describes someone who is weak, exhausted, or without strength. God promises to give power to such people. He does not require us to pretend that we are always strong. Instead, He invites us to depend on His strength when ours is insufficient. Isaiah 40:31 says, “they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.” To wait upon the LORD is not passive laziness. It means trusting God, remaining faithful, praying, obeying His Word, and patiently depending on His timing. Renew means to receive fresh strength for the journey. The Scripture uses the picture of an eagle: “they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” An eagle can rise above powerful winds rather than being destroyed by them. Likewise, God can give His people strength to rise above circumstances that would otherwise overwhelm them. But Isaiah also says, “they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Not every season requires us to fly. Sometimes we run; sometimes we simply walk. The important thing is to keep moving with God. Hebrews 12:1 compares the Christian life to a race. It tells us to “lay aside every weight” and the sin that can easily hinder us. A weight may be anything that unnecessarily slows our spiritual progress—wrong priorities, bitterness, distractions, unhealthy attachments, or attitudes that keep us from God's purpose. The instruction is clear: “let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Patience means endurance and steadfastness. Life experience teaches us that successful runners do not quit simply because the race becomes difficult. They maintain their focus and continue moving toward the finish line. Perhaps you are tired today. Perhaps you have been carrying a burden for a long time. Do not interpret your weariness as the end of your journey. Bring your weakness to God. Wait upon Him. Allow Him to renew your strength. You do not have to finish today's race using yesterday's strength. God has fresh grace and strength for today's journey. Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep praying. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "Your present circumstances may change, but God's purpose for your future remains sure." DAY'S REFLECTION Life does not always unfold according to our expectations. There are seasons of waiting, disappointment, uncertainty, loss, and unanswered questions. In such moments, it is easy to lose hope. But God's Word reminds us that our hope is anchored in God, not in circumstances. Paul calls God "the God of hope." Hope is not merely wishing that something good might happen. Biblical hope is a confident expectation based on God's character and promises. Romans 15:13 says that God can "fill you with all joy and peace in believing." Notice the connection between believing, joy, peace, and hope. When we trust God, He gives us an inner peace that circumstances cannot easily destroy. The phrase "abound in hope" means to overflow or be rich in hope. God does not want us merely to survive difficult seasons; He wants our confidence in Him to overflow. Jeremiah 29:11 gives another powerful assurance: "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD." God knows what we cannot see. We may be uncertain about tomorrow, but tomorrow is not uncertain to Him. The word "peace" in this verse points to God's intention for His people—not destruction or evil, but His purposeful care. The phrase "an expected end" speaks of a future or outcome that God has in view. It is important to understand this promise in its original context. Jeremiah spoke these words to Israelites who were experiencing exile and would have to wait for God's appointed time. Therefore, the promise was not that every difficulty would disappear immediately. It was an assurance that God had not abandoned His people and that their difficult season was not the end of their story. Life experience teaches us that a difficult chapter is not necessarily a bad conclusion. Sometimes what looks like a delay is preparation. What feels like a closed door may redirect us. What appears to be an ending may become the beginning of something new. Therefore, do not allow today's difficulty to define your entire future. Continue trusting God. Keep praying. Keep obeying His Word. Keep doing what is right, even when you cannot yet see the outcome. Your future is not controlled by fear. God knows the plans He has for you. Today, let the Holy Spirit fill you with hope, joy, and peace. You may not know exactly what tomorrow holds, but you know Who holds tomorrow. Psalm 75:6–7 (KJV) "For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "Faithfulness in small things prepares you for greater things." DAY'S REFLECTION Many people desire great opportunities, promotion, influence, wealth, and recognition. But God's Word teaches us that greatness is often preceded by faithfulness in small things. Jesus says in Luke 16:10, "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much." The word "faithful" means dependable, trustworthy, loyal, and consistent. "That which is least" refers to things that may appear small, ordinary, or insignificant in our eyes. God watches how we handle what we have before giving us responsibility for what we desire. A person who is careless with small responsibilities may also become careless when entrusted with greater ones. Sometimes people think, "When I get a better job, I will work harder," or "When God gives me more money, I will become generous." But biblical principles teach the opposite: be faithful now with what you already have. Be faithful with your time. Be faithful with your work. Be faithful with your relationships. Be faithful with money. Be faithful in serving God. Be faithful even when nobody is watching. Psalm 75:6–7 reminds us that promotion ultimately comes from God. The psalmist says that promotion does not come simply from geographical directions or human sources, but "God is the judge." He has the authority to "putteth down" one and "setteth up" another. This does not mean that effort, preparation, excellence, or wise relationships are unnecessary. Rather, it reminds us that human connections cannot replace God's sovereignty. We should work diligently while trusting God with the outcome. Life experience teaches us that small responsibilities often reveal a person's true character. Someone who cannot be trusted with a small assignment will struggle when given a greater one. Conversely, consistent faithfulness builds a reputation for reliability and prepares a person for greater responsibility. Therefore, do not despise your present season because it seems small. Your current assignment may be God's training ground for your future. If you are serving in a small capacity, serve faithfully. If your business is still growing, work honestly. If your opportunity seems insignificant, give it your best. If recognition has not yet come, continue doing what is right. God sees your faithfulness. Your responsibility is to be faithful; God's responsibility is to determine the time and manner of promotion. BELIEVE THAT YE RECEIVE Pray • Believe • Trust • Receive ANCHOR SCRIPTURE Mark 11:24 (KJV) “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” 1. PRAY WITH FAITH Don't just pray with your lips—believe in your heart. Faith gives confidence before the answer appears. 2. TRUST GOD Bring your desires before God, but trust His wisdom and timing. 1 John 5:14 (KJV) “...if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” 3. Wednesday, 26th August, 2026 TITLE: "ABIDE IN GOD: DWELL IN HIS PRESENCE, REMAIN IN HIS STRENGTH" ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) Psalm 91:1–2 (KJV) "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." John 15:4 (KJV) "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "Your strength, safety, and fruitfulness begin with remaining close to God." DAY'S REFLECTION The Christian life is not designed to be lived independently of God. We need His presence, strength, guidance, and grace every day. Psalm 91:1 gives us a beautiful picture of this relationship: "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." The word "dwelleth" means to live, remain, or make one's home in a place. It is more than visiting occasionally. God desires us to develop a consistent relationship with Him rather than seeking Him only when trouble comes. The "secret place" speaks of intimate fellowship with God—a place of prayer, worship, meditation on His Word, and communion with Him. To "abide under the shadow of the Almighty" speaks of resting in His presence and depending on His power and protection. The psalmist therefore confidently declares, "He is my refuge and my fortress." A refuge is a place of safety, while a fortress provides protection against attack. The writer's confidence was not in his circumstances but in his relationship with God: "my God; in him will I trust." Jesus gives us the same principle in John 15:4: "Abide in me, and I in you." He uses the relationship between a branch and a vine to explain spiritual dependence. A branch cannot produce fruit by itself. It must remain connected to the vine. Likewise, we cannot produce lasting spiritual fruit through human effort alone. We need continuous connection with Christ. To abide means to remain, continue, dwell, and stay connected. Life experience teaches us that disconnection brings weakness. A phone may be fully functional, but without connection to its power source, its battery eventually runs down. Similarly, believers who neglect prayer, God's Word, worship, and fellowship with Christ can become spiritually weak and vulnerable. Abiding in Christ does not mean that problems will never come. It means that when problems come, we do not face them alone. We have a refuge. We have a fortress. We have the presence of the Almighty. Today, do not merely visit God's presence—dwell there. Do not only seek Christ when you need something—abide in Him daily. Stay connected to Christ, and let His presence become your place of strength, peace, protection, and fruitfulness. Trusting God brings confidence in the midst of uncertainty. 3. Spiritual strength comes from remaining connected to Christ. 4. Like a branch depends on the vine, we depend on Jesus for spiritual fruitfulness. 5. Prayer and God's Word help us maintain intimate fellowship with Christ. 6. Abiding in Christ produces stability, peace, strength, and lasting fruit. EVERYDAY ACTION Spend intentional time with God today through prayer and His Word, and consciously depend on Christ in every decision. PRAYER Heavenly Father, help me dwell in Your presence and abide in Christ every day. Be my refuge and fortress, strengthen my faith, and make my life fruitful for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen. KEEP THY HEAR A Tender Heart Is a Wise Heart ANCHOR SCRIPTURE Proverbs 28:14 (KJV) “Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.” 1. FEAR GOD Honour God, respect His Word and follow His instructions. A heart that respects God is guided by wisdom. 2. DON'T HARDEN YOUR HEART A hardened heart rejects correction and refuses to learn. Stubbornness can take you where wisdom would have protected you. 3. STAY TEACHABLE Be willing to listen, accept correction and change when you are wrong. Proverbs 12:1 (KJV) “Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge...” 4. GUARD YOUR HEART Forgive. Repent. Listen. Learn. Accept good counsel. Don't allow pride, pain or offence to harden your heart.
