Biography of Dawit Desta
Dawit Desta is an educator, interpreter, and community leader with over 16 years of experience in child development, language training, and church leadership.

He is the Founder and General Manager of Ibex School of Languages in Arbaminch, Southern Ethiopia, where he has built a respected institution offering English language training, professional communication programs, and interpretation services for international ministries and audits. Through Ibex, Dawit has empowered students, professionals, and mission teams with the tools to communicate across cultures.

Since 2010, Dawit has served as Project Director of the ET‑0453 Child Development Project (Compassion‑assisted), overseeing holistic child development initiatives that support vulnerable children and families. His leadership has ensured program compliance, donor accountability, and community transformation.

Dawit’s interpretation skills have been widely recognized. He has provided professional interpretation for international ministries, medical teams, and gospel missions, bridging language and cultural gaps with precision and empathy.

His leadership journey began early at Addis Ababa University, where he was active in fellowship programs and student ministry. For the past 14 years, Dawit has also served in Mulu Wongel Church Bible study and as an elder chair, guiding spiritual growth, mentoring youth, and strengthening the church community.
