God doesn't call perfect people, the same way a doctor doesn't heal those in good health.
God takes those who have been sinful, who have done wrong, and who have turned away from Him, and uses them to grow His people, and bring people to Him.
Paul persecuted and killed Christians, but he ended up developing the modern day Church.
The lesson is this, God is not worried about your past, but He is invested in your future. Focus on what you can do to honour God for being with you through it all. your whole life.
Because change sounds good…
until it costs you something.
See, a lot of us say we want freedom…
but we don’t always want to let go of what’s familiar.
Even if what’s familiar is killing us.
Some people reading this,
you’re not just addicted to a substance.
You’re addicted to a lifestyle.
The people.
The habits.
The environment.
And deep down you already know…
if you really change…
some of that has to go.
And that’s the part nobody talks about.
Because letting go hurts.
Walking away hurts.
Outgrowing people hurts.
But hear this.
Just because something is familiar…
does not mean it’s good for you.
The Bible says:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
— Romans 12:2 from Epistle to the Romans
Transformation means change.
Not surface-level change.
Deep change.
The kind that shifts how you think…
how you move…
how you live.
And here’s the truth.
Some people can’t go where you’re going.
Not because you’re better than them.
But because they’re committed to a version of you…
that you’re trying to leave behind.
You can’t heal in the same environment that broke you.
Let that sink in.
And yes…
it’s uncomfortable.
It’s lonely sometimes.
It feels like you’re starting over.
But listen carefully.
God never calls you to stay stuck.
The Bible says:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

A new thing.
Not a slightly improved version of your old life.
Something new.
So here’s the real question.
Are you willing…
to let go of what’s behind you…
to step into what’s ahead?
Because recovery isn’t just about what you’re leaving.
It’s about who you’re becoming.
And yes…
not everyone is going to understand your change.
Some people will question it.
Some people will resist it.
Some people will try to pull you back.
But you have to decide…
is your future worth protecting?
Because you can’t walk into freedom…
while holding onto chains.
So if God is calling you higher…
don’t look back.
Don’t negotiate.
Don’t hesitate.
Step forward.
Even if it’s uncomfortable.
Even if it’s lonely.
Even if it’s hard.
Because on the other side of that decision…
is the life you’ve been praying for.

We have all fallen short of the Glory of God, but help us to not forget that Jesus died for us. Let that memory take over us, and ensure that we are reminded that we are forgiven. Let us repent with open hearts, and feel your mercy pour over us.

I tend to disagree.
13 years ago, I got home after being drunk again. I had been in a terrible physical fight.
I got home and I had a fight with my mother. In my drunken state, filthy, dirty and covered in rain, I went on to tell her that she should have kept her legs closed and not acted like a prostitute with my dad. That way I would never have been born, and the world would have had one less problem.
Miracle 1:
My mother, instead of getting angry, tool me into her arms, and hugged me. Her only words... I love you.
I don't think many people would have reacted this way.
Miracle 2:
A week later, I was in rehab. I found God, and turned my life around.
Since then, I have been actively involved in my rehab, helping others. And I feel that calling more than ever today.
Some miracles happen over time, and some straight away.
Our eyes are just closed to them.
We ask God for proof that He is there.
But we don't look at what He has done for us.
I urge everyone to look at their life, and see the many miracles that God has done for them.
