The wilderness was not empty
Alone, mistreated and pushed out, Hagar meets the angel of the Lord at a spring.

He speaks to her personally, by name, and gives her a promise for her son's future.

Mum tips
Speak to Him the way Hagar did. Just say plainly, "God, I feel unseen."
Stop waiting for the season to end before you expect to meet Him in it.

Is there a wilderness season in your life right now where you're not sure anyone truly sees you?

Day Five · Genesis 16:13

El Roi — the God who sees me
A mistreated servant girl, alone at a spring, names God — and the name she chooses is about being seen.

Hagar named God before anyone in her life changed how they treated her.

Let His seeing settle you before people catch up.
Say the name back to Him today: El Roi — You see me.
Reflection
What does it mean to you personally that God calls Himself El Roi — the God who sees?

Day Six · Luke 12:6–7

Worth more than many sparrows
The same truth Hagar discovered at that spring is confirmed again, centuries later, from Jesus' own mouth.

For the single mother holding everything together with no one checking on her: you are counted.

Mum tips
Weigh people's forgetting against His remembering — they are not the same currency.
Ask someone safe to check on you this week. Being seen by God does not mean carrying it alone.

Day Seven · Genesis 21:17–19

It was not the final word
Daughters, Hagar's story does not end in the wilderness, and neither does yours.

Whatever wilderness you're in today, you are not alone in it.

Walk out of the room, the season or the silence knowing you were seen the whole time.
