- I have watched as the churches and many Christians are becoming modern day Pharisees. We are becoming more concerned about who is leading and what laws are being enforced, just like the Pharisees during the first century. We forget that as followers of Jesus our citizenship is in heaven (Phil 3:20). We are are not of this world (John 17:16) and are actually ambassadors of Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:20).

It's important for you to understand that if Jesus is not your Lord, then he was never your Savior. The following parable is most often found under the heading, The Cost of Discipleship. When we read the Bible, we often see that wherever Jesus is, that crowds are attracted to him. Also, Jesus tells us things that we very often do not want to hear. As we be1 Comments 0 Shares 21 ViewsPlease log in to like, share and comment! - BE LOVING MEN
Be Loving Men is the men's ministry outreach of Radical Recovery Ministries. Here is the story behind the name.
BLM was the name of a organization called Black Lives Matter that became very public after the death of George Floyd. Many blame the police for his death. I have been to prison several times and I feel everyone should have the right to stand before a judge for what they are accused of. However, in the case of George Floyd, he did not get that opportunity.
My thoughts started thinking about the father of George Floyd. What kind of man was he? I soon realized that George was a father. He had a young daughter, but his family did not seem important enough for George to be a responsible provider and leader of his family.
The more I thought about that, the more convicted I felt. This was 2020 and I had not seen my own children since 2002. That's when I began to understand that the issue was not a race thing. It was not a culture thing. It was a man thing.
There's a verse in the Bible that requires a husband to love his wife like Jesus Christ loves the church. (Ephesians 5:25)
I realized that I did not have to earn God's love. I do not have to earn his time, attention, or affection. Yet for some reason I would only respond lovingly to my wife when I felt she was lovable and deserving of my love.
When my children were younger, I didn't have time for them if I was watching a sports game unless they were watching with me. And most of my attention and emotions were on the game and not on my kids who just wanted time with their dad.
I am loved by God not because I am lovable. There is nothing lovable about me. Compared to the unsurpassing holiness of God, I am a pus oozing, stench emitting leper. The reason I am loved is because God chose to place his affection on me.
If I can love my wife because I am committed to love her whether she is lovable or not, then I am loving my wife like Christ loves the church. If I actively love and engage with my children because I am committed to being interested in them whether they are doing something that interests me or not, the dynamics of my life changes. The dynamics of my family will also change. I can be that spiritual leader and moral example that my family needs. That can effect my relations with my neighbors and community. That will be the catalyst of change that the community, the nation, and the rest of the world needs.
To Be Loving Men on purpose can make an impact on others around us. The picture that helps me visualize and explain it is the only of my friend about 15 years ago. He is standing holding his wife on his shoulders and both of his sons. Where he goes, his family goes. His wife sees things from a different perspective and shares it with her husband. The stability of the family is due to the family holding to each other and trusting dad.
But the stability of dad is because of the rock that is behind him. That rock made it possible for mom to get on dad's shoulders and his sons to get into his arms. But that rock goes deeper than the surface. It is the foundation that allows dad to support his family.
In the Christian faith, Jesus Christ is often referred to as the Rock. He is necessary for every man to stand on to be that loving man that will lead his family, and those around him to Be Loving Men that lead their community.
Families will experience healing and relationships can be restored when men are in a right relationship with their Creator. I'm living proof of that. By following and living this out in my own life, relationships with my children are being restored.BE LOVING MEN Be Loving Men is the men's ministry outreach of Radical Recovery Ministries.
