Ashes to Freedom was created for the unloved, the forgotten, the judged, the persecuted—and especially for those re-entering society after prison, seeking a true second chance. We believe no life is too broken and no person is beyond the redeeming love of God.
Our heart is to walk alongside individuals as they rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and faith.
Through the Work 4 A Living program, individuals are given access to far more than job readiness or skills training. This biblically based program begins with the heart and the mind—helping people grow in their relationship with God, walk closely with Jesus Christ, and become part of a supportive, faith-filled community.
At Ashes to Freedom, we stand alongside those who choose this path—encouraging, supporting, and walking with them as they rebuild their lives. Through discipleship, accountability, and genuine care, we help create an environment where lasting transformation is possible from the inside out.
This journey is not just about finding work—it is about restoring identity, purpose, and a life grounded in faith, transformed out of the ashes into freedom. From that place, we understand that it is biblical to work, and that work becomes part of our calling.
Through this process, individuals gain their identity in Christ. They learn how to work with what is in their hands, grow in excellence, and build a life that reflects godly character. They are taught how to create, to steward opportunities well, and even to step into entrepreneurship—all in a way that honors God.
Why do I support this? Because I am a testimony to it.
After being released from prison, I was supported through Work 4 A Living and by pastors and mentors who walked alongside me. They did not leave me to figure life out alone—they helped guide me, support me, and hold me accountable as I rebuilt my life.
That is what so many parolees truly need: a second chance. A real opportunity to rebuild.
God is a giver of many chances, and through Him, restoration is always possible.
It is in my heart to dedicate a portion of the profits from this business—what God has entrusted to me—to uplifting and supporting others walking this same journey.

- God is a Creator, and because we are created in His image, creativity is one of the gifts He lovingly places inside of us. Every talent, idea, dream, and skill can become a way to glorify Him and build the life He has called us to live. Working, creating, learning, building, and using our gifts are not worldly things when they are done with the right heart — they are part of walking in purpose.
The Bible shows us from the very beginning that God worked, created, designed, and brought beauty into existence. He also gives His people wisdom, creativity, and skill to create, build, serve, and provide.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
“The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty... to bless all the work of your hands.” — Deuteronomy 28:12
God never intended for us to bury our gifts in fear, doubt, shame, or comparison. He places dreams, ideas, creativity, and purpose inside of us so that we can grow, serve others, provide, encourage, and reflect His goodness in the earth.
Whether it is art, music, teaching, business, writing, sewing, designing, caring for others, or building something meaningful — when it is done with integrity, love, and faith, it can become worship unto God.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” — Colossians 3:17
“Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings.” — Proverbs 22:29
God gives each of us different gifts and abilities. We are not meant to live without purpose. We are called to use what He has placed in our hands faithfully. Creativity is not something to be ashamed of. Hard work is not something to fear. Building a better life through honest work, wisdom, and God-given gifts is honorable in His sight.
So keep creating. Keep learning. Keep building. Keep trusting God with the work of your hands. I want to share something personal… not just about Samantha, but about where I stand in all of this.
I am someone who believes deeply in restoration.
In second chances.
In the truth that God does not discard people—He rebuilds them.
That is why I am standing with Samantha.
And I want to be honest about something—
I am not a big organisation.
I am not a charity with endless resources.
I am one person.
But I believe this with my whole heart:
if each of us just takes one step… one person can make a difference, no matter how small.
Right now, Samantha is in a place that is incredibly far removed from any real opportunity to earn a living. Where she is staying is isolated—beautiful, yes—but not practical for rebuilding a life. Work opportunities are far, transport is difficult, and connection to resources is limited.
But even in this… we are trying.
Samantha has taken a step forward—she has completed her TEFL certificate. And together, we are working toward helping her begin teaching English online as a way to earn an income during this season.
It is not easy.
Wi-Fi is a challenge.
Resources are limited.
But there is a small door opening.
The friend she is staying with, in Christ, has offered to loan her a laptop so she can at least begin. And we are trusting that through this, Samantha will be able to start earning something—however small—and begin rebuilding her dignity and independence.
At the same time, there is a bigger vision.
Ashes to Artistry has committed to helping Samantha get into a Work-for-a-Living programme as soon as her parole is complete. This is not just about income—it is about true restoration.
A place of:
Spiritual growth.
Emotional healing.
Godly mentorship.
Accountability.
Community.
A place where she can be discipled, strengthened, and rebuilt from the inside out.
But right now… we wait.
Because of the parole system, Samantha cannot relocate. She cannot move into that environment yet. There are still 10 months of parole remaining, and until that time is complete, her movement is restricted.
So this is the season we are in:
A season of limitation…
but also a season of preparation.
We are doing what we can with what we have.
Trusting God in the small steps.
Believing that even now, He is making a way where there seems to be none.
If you are reading this, I ask you for one thing—
Not judgment. Not pity.
But prayer.
And if God places it on your heart to be part of this journey in any way—whether through support, opportunity, or simply sharing this story—please know that even the smallest act can make a real difference.
Because this is what restoration looks like sometimes…
