- Why am I here?
We ask God this question in a moment of self doubt, or a moment of frustration and in that moment we want God to tell us a specific reason, give us the “grand picture,” but, that’s not usually the way it works. The cool thing is, is that He’s telling us as we go, the answer lies in the moments in time we take for granted. He gives us the ability to stop, take a breath, and look back to see the intricate pieces of our life woven together the way that only He can do! We quote Isaiah 64:8 all the time, “But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand,” but, we want to be the finished product and not marvel at the process of the Artist Himself. A piece of pottery starts out as a lump of clay and as the potter works, it turns into a beautiful work of art and there can’t be one step in the process that is overlooked and He knows this. I think the question we should be asking is not a question at all, but a searching out of the newest addition or change that He has made with the inquisitiveness of a child trying to figure out how to adequately utilize the newest feature that has been molded into our life. Questioning leads to frustration, exploration leads to fulfillment!!
“but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.””
