Crossing the Threshold
Scripture:
“While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. He said to them: ‘You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile...’” (Acts 10:27-28a)
Peter had to break a deeply ingrained cultural rule just to cross that doorway. Religious tradition said he was defiling himself. Walking into that house required Peter to value God's voice over his own comfort, reputation, and upbringing. Growth always happens right outside your comfort zone.
Reflection:
What cultural, social, or personal boundaries is God asking you to cross to love someone else?
Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to cross the thresholds that make me uncomfortable. Help me value obedience over my own preferences.
