The Call to Shine in the Villages Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” As a missionary in the village, your presence is not ordinary—you are God’s chosen vessel to bring light where there is darkness, hope where there is despair, and truth where there is ignorance. The villages may lack many earthly things, but they are rich fields ready for the harvest. Never forget that your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Beloved, shine your light, preach the gospel with love, serve the people with humility, and heaven will record your sacrifices.
