Life is all about investment and what we sow often come back to us in harvest measure. There are two major platforms we can invest our treasures and fortunes - in earth and in heaven. Jesus taught us to wisely invest our treasures in heaven. THE BENEFITS Jesus taught us to invest in heaven for the following benefits: 1. Investment made in heaven is safe. Wise among men are those who invest in the safest and surest place. Jesus warned against investing our treasure in the earth because it is unsafe and subject to vanity, decay, robbery and destruction. It's therefore wise to invest, lay up, and store up our treasures in heaven. Storing up fortunes in the earth is foolishness. 2. Investment made in heaven attract highest returns. It's one sure way to amass true riches in heaven. On the other hand, laying one's treasures in the earth brings low or no returns. In fact, it's not only fleeting, it pulls the heart to greed, avarice, worldly vanities and diverse evils. You've got to stop amassing wealth in the earth because it will fade and decay. Investments made in the earth are at the risk of destruction and robbery. We came into this world with nothing and it is certain we shall go out of it with nothing. Therefore, store up your treasures in heaven and it will bring you returns of eternal values, true riches, and worthy and valuable glories. 3. It makes the heart single and focused on God. Whether our heart is single [focus] on God or on the worldly vanities is determined by where we lay our treasures. Investing in heaven sets the heart on God. Where you lay your treasure dictates the focus of your heart. Man's heart gravitates towards the location of his treasures and possessions. For your heart to focus on God, you must treasure God and generously invest in His kingdom. 4. It determines the state of the heart. While investing in heaven brings divine light to the soul and draws the heart close to God, investing in the earth pulls the heart into the abyss of darkness and vanity. Our heart is the inner eye and it is the lamp of God; an epitome of the light divine. So, what exactly are the treasures we are to invest in heaven? Majorly, they are: i). Physical/material treasure such as money and property. ii) Immaterial treasure such as our life, time, potential, talent, gift, and legacy. Don't forget: wise men store up their treasures in heaven but foolish folks invest theirs in the earth. Choose to be among the wise. The investment wisdom is the wisdom that wins the future and crowns eternity. And bountiful investment wins bountiful harvest.
