Life can change in a moment. We build, we collect, we remember—but in an instant, it can all be taken, erased, or changed beyond recognition. My lost Facebook account is a reminder of this truth: nothing in this world lasts forever. Everything I had posted over the last 15 years...GONE!
The Bible constantly reminds us that life is temporary, like a vapor that vanishes, like grass that withers, like a flower that fades (Psalm 103:15-16). Everything we cling to—possessions, status, even memories—can disappear in a breath. But here’s the good news: what’s temporary in this world is not temporary in eternity.
While pictures and posts may be lost, what truly lasts are the things stored in heaven—our faith, our relationship with Christ, and the souls we lead to Him. Jesus said, ‘Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal’ (Matthew 6:20).
So while this setback is extremely frustrating, let it serve as a reminder: the most valuable things in life aren’t stored on a server, but in the hands of God. Keep pressing forward, keep investing in eternity, and rest in the fact that nothing can erase what’s secured in Him.
