Man, this just hit me. Earlier I was writing about 2 Samuel 12 specifically the part where it says David showed utter contempt for the Word of the Lord. That shook me. It reminded me that obedience matters. But just to be clear, I wasn’t talking about salvation in that post. I was talking about honor. Even though we’re under grace, when we knowingly disobey, it’s not just a mistake it shows we’re not valuing His Word the way we should. But what really got me was later in the chapter, in verse 23. David says, “But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.”

Come on, that’s powerful. David had just lost his son, a consequence of his sin with Bathsheba. He was grieving, yes, but listen to his hope. “I will go to him one day.” That right there shows David still had confidence in his salvation. Even in the middle of heartbreak, even after messing up big time, he knew he still belonged to God. That tells me something. When the enemy comes whispering lies, you messed up again. God’s done with you. You’ve gone too far, you’ve got to shut that down. That’s not the truth. David sinned. He faced consequences. But he did not lose his place with God. He was still called a man after God’s own heart.

Your salvation isn’t based on your performance. It’s not about how perfect you’ve been. It’s based on who Jesus is and what He already did for you. So don’t let condemnation bury you. Get back up. Keep walking. God’s not done with you. If you belong to Him, you belong to Him. Period.
