Midrash Ze`eira for Mattityahu 21.14-16
"And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. And when the chief kohanim and sofrim saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, 'Hosha`na to the son of David;' they were sore displeased, and said unto him, 'Hearest thou what these say?' And Yeshua saith unto them, 'Yea; have ye never read, "out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?" ' "
–Mattityahu 21.14-16
In the Masora, we read it as: "Mippi olelim weyoneqim yissadeta oz" [מפי עוללים וינקים יסדת עז] - "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength." "Oz," though mainly given to us as "strength", also refers to "praise" and "exultation" being done in a manner of great exuberance.
So, it may be understood, that the soft, gentle manner, or the tiniest of expressions, like that of a child's praise, is the strongest praise ever to be given. For it is by a child's faith that we are accepted into the kingdom, as the Mashiach has said:
"Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Mattityahu 18:3-4)
The world measures its greatness by what is biggest and strongest. But in the Mashiach, it is by the humble and the depths of their humility that one is seen as great – "the first shall be last and the last first."
Praise is our strength! "Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise [which is our strength]?" And why is this? The Mizmor/Psalm goes on to say: "because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger!" (Tehillim 8.3) For it is also written:
"But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Yis'rael." (Tehillim 22.4)
