Kings Rise and Fall, but the Faithful Endure

Kings come and go. Dominions fade. Kingdoms rise and fall. But the truly great possess a secret that sets them apart: “…he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” (1 John 2:17, KJV)

David was king over Israel. What drew the kingdom to him was not pedigree or power - it was the posture of his heart. His deep devotion endeared him to God, and in response, God established a covenant: David would never lack a descendant on the throne.

Jesus, the eternal King, was born into David’s lineage. His Kingdom shall never end.

Yes, there were kings before and after David. Death claimed their reigns. Wars dismantled their dominions. But David’s case was different.

What did David know that others missed?

David knew God. And he stayed true to Him - even when the culture around him embraced a new wave of diluted devotion. While others chased trends, David clung to truth.

Throughout history, every man or woman who has truly known God and remained faithful has stood out - some in this life, others in eternity.

It pays to know God and to stay true to Him. Don't be swept away by the tides of godlessness or the modern redefinition of consecration. Pursue a real, experiential relationship with God - and hold fast.

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” (John 17:3, KJV)
