Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

This morning’s lyrics are “Lord I am still counting my blessings.” Probably not the actual lyrics but the paraphrased version running in my head. Which is followed up by “count your blessings name them one by one.” Part of me wants to do a mashup of these two so that I can have an addost type song in my head. You know, I am weird that way.

This morning is a little different, for a couple of reasons. One, I have a therapy appointment early. I am actually looking forward to…my foot feels amazing after. Then a couple of errands, then work. The second reason is because there seemed to be a lot of nervous energy in the house last night. The pup was acting all kinds of bonkers, and it was not a potty issue, because we did not wake up to any messes. That same energy messed with my husband and I also, just in different ways. Now, I did get good sleep, but the energy was off.

The book is moving along quite nicely. As I had stated previously, making it known the project has peaked a lot of curiosity. This in turn has helped me to stay on track. Also, there is a set of four teams (writing styles) with influencing coaches to help us keep from getting down and we can build each other up as well. Writing Redemption was extremely fun for me. This one is surpassing that one. Two more chapters done last night. God also cleared up a plot/flow thing for me while I was doing the laundry. Pull out a pair of socks, get an inspiration. Yes!

When you are given an assignment from Him, and you are testing the spirit or are you looking for a loophole? When He confirms the assignment, are you following in faith or are you challenging each move because it is not what ‘you thought’?

To this concept, I am guilty in so many ways. As normal, everyday people, it is in our nature (thanks to the enemy inserting himself wherever he can) to do these things. However, are we allowing his insertion to deflect us into a direction of disobedience or are we rolling with the flow trusting in Him who gave us the assignment.

I can say with certainty that with this new book, I was only teetering with the idea. As I have mentioned, I could have done one last year but chose not to. Then two confirmations for this one came. I jumped in straight on. But the story in my head was not coming out on paper. I was starting to wonder if I had misheard or I was going off on my own. (I tend to do that) But last night, as I said earlier, He revealed a piece that undoubtedly showed me that I was right where I was supposed to be and the I just needed to continue on the path that I was on. And yes, it was literally when I pulled out a sock from the dryer. When it hit me, I was like, “Yes…that makes sense…thank you” And then I continued to thank him for this vision. I became super stoked and could not wait for dinner to be finished so I could sit down and write.

It is natural for us to question and doubt, but we need to remember that all we need to do for clarification is to ask. I had asked him on many trips to work or to town or even when we went to our sons, where are we going with this story. This is not the ideas I had…was it a ‘me’ idea or a ‘You’ idea. He was silent at first, but I was calm in receiving of his silence. That is a rarity for me. Especially in my writing. When you ask, listen in the quiet for his answer. Sometimes the answer is as simple as “shhh, it’s okay.”

Take a moment today to reflect on items that you have prayed on or asked for. Think about the surroundings and place you were. How busy was your mind? Did it slow down or remain in fast forward? Then go to Him in silent prayer and listen for his voice. It may be a faint whisper or it may be a songbird, but in either case, he will be there.

Be blessed today my friends.
