THEME: THE FOUNDATION OF PRAYER
TEXT: Matthew 6 vs 9
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
We are to pray to our father who is in heaven, until God is your father you can not pray. Prayer is birthed out of a relationship of a father and a son. A relationship is how one thing is connected to another, the potency of your prayer lies in the connection you have with God. The only connection that makes prayer potent is to have God as your father.
When we appear before God in prayer we do not come as his people or his servant but as his children, prayer is for the sons of God. We do not Pray to get our needs met but rather we pray to deepen our intimacy with God. When you come to the place of prayer God must share his heart and burdens with you. You must hear from God and then God to hear from you that is what it means to pray according to God's will. Even when you have a matter to present to God, first hear God's side concerning that matter then you can present your own side.
The power of your prayer is directly promotional to the depth of your relationship with God. Elijah was a man like us but because he had a deep relationship with God His prayer brought incredible results.You have no relationship with God except you are genuinely born again this is by accepting Jesus as personal lord and saviour. It is those that have recieved Jesus Christ that he gave the power to become the sons of God.
CONFESSION
I am a bonafide child of God; I am God son and as I pray tremendous power is made available.
