THEME: HAVING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD'S WORD
TEXT: Numbers 14 vs 24
But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
To have a different spirit is have a different attitude, a different approach and response towards God's word. Many people have a wrong attitude towards God's word and their relationship with God. There are people who think the word of God is hard and not easy to follow, that may be true but their problem is the attitude towards God's word.
The right attitude is to have a willing heart, God does not force anyone into anything. You must be willing to live by God's word and to submit to the authority of God. You must have a teachable heart, can you be corrected, rebuked and taught? If you can not stand these three things you dont have a teachable heart. Lastly, readiness to do the word of God.
The word does not work for people who are not ready to do as it says. Genuine faith in God word will stir you into action in direction of God's word. The fact that you are failing to apply what you are learning from God's word is a sign that you lack understanding. If you truely understood God's word you will put it into practice.
CONFESSION
I have a different spirit, the right attitude towards God's word. An attitude of Faith, willingness, humility and readiness to do God's word in Jesus mighty name AMEN
