Alone with God

Waiting On God

Psalm 27:14 KJV
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

I believe that one of the hardest challenges in a Christian's life is waiting on God. For some people, including myself, waiting can be very difficult; we struggle with it! However, I have learned over the years that if I want God's best, waiting is essential. This doesn’t mean I just sit back and do nothing. Instead, I pray about it, I seek Him daily, I get to know Him personally, and ask questions while I wait. It's okay to ask; He understands.

Dr Charles Stanley writes in one of his devotions that, "God doesn’t always meet our needs immediately or in a way we expect. Because often He is redirecting us or preparing us for something new."

Have you ever stopped to consider that maybe God is preparing you for something new in your life while you wait? Think about it, pray about it, but more importantly, wait on the Lord. Before you know it, God will come through. It might be that new house you've been dreaming of, or that new car you saw sitting at the dealership on your way home the other night. Maybe it's that job you've been waiting for. You just never know when God is going to open that door for you to walk through.

Also, keep in mind that the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
