True believers, real Christians, never shy away from the Word of God! They will desire it, and eat it like it was food (1 Pet. 2:2; Jer. 15:16). They will live by every word of it (Matt. 4:4). They will declare it to each subsequent generation (Psa. 145:4). They'll never be ashamed of it (Rom. 1:16). They will avidly study the Word making certain they've no reason to ever be ashamed (2 Tim. 2:15). They will never shrink back from declaring the whole counsel of God's Word (Acts 20:27). And they'll daily take up the Word of God as a sword (Eph 6:17) against all untruth.
False converts will be, and do the opposite of everything listed above. The most a false convert will do is borrow a few biblical words here and there to make themselves 'appear' legit before others. But meanwhile, they are steadily shying away from the Bible in every way, to avoid friction with, and detachment from the world, and potential persecution. A false convert will more boldly speak things related to the wisdom of the world, and then stamp it with God's name to give the illusion of being a bold Christian to those who don't know the scriptures and will be deceived by their ploy.
To my fellow brethren in Christ, do not behave in the manner of a false convert, but rather as you were called to walk, being sanctified in the truth (John 17:17), and being the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15), speak His words boldly as you ought! In fact, every man, woman and child in the household of God should make it a habit of speaking as with the oracles of God, making quoting from the scriptures an essential part of their daily vernacular (whether in a formal or casual setting). Our Lord Jesus Christ, and His apostles, both quoted from Scripture "frequently"! Why should the Lord's church be any different?!
The whole world might be under the sway of the evil one, but it is not his world. Both heaven and earth, and all things in them are God's. So do not allow any unbelieving, secular individual dictate to you what is the "appropriate" time and space to speak as with the oracles of God. Selah
If anything, it is 'always' the appropriate time and space to declare the praises of God and His works through the speaking of His eternal Word, which was so graciously given to us by revelation. Amen.
And, if anything, it is the idle, vain words of the world that are inappropriate. So it makes no sense at all that any Alvin Abang child of God should find themselves eager to puppet what the world has to say on just about anything, but only arrest and bring the vain arguments and high things of the world into captivity to the obedience of Christ! Selah
