Jesus' answer to the prayer of the leprous man taught us three vital lessons.
"And Jesus put forth His hand and touched him, saying, I will, be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed." (Matthew 8: 3)
This was Jesus answer to the man's prayer and it was a three-in-one answer. Here are the lessons for us to learn for the answer:
(i). Jesus isn't just able to heal; He is willing and ready to heal the sick. He stretched His hand and touched the leper to prove to him that He is willing and ready to cleanse him of his leprosy. Likewise, Jesus is willing and ready to save, heal and deliver you. And if only you can believe as the leper did, you will receive your salvation, healing and deliverance, even now.
(ii) It is the will of God to heal. Jesus said "I will" to the leper to tell him that healing is God’s will. Yes, divine healing is God's will and God's I will. Healing and restoration is the will of God for you. The Lord Jesus is Jehovah Rapha who is able and willing to heal. It is His will to heal you. Jesus is willing to save, heal, deliver and give victory to everyone of us. Healing the sick is His will and His‘I will’.
(iii) Jesus healed by His touch and spoken word. Jesus healed the leprous man by both the healing touch and the spoken word. He touched him and said "... be thou clean and immediately his leprosy was cleansed." Even today, you also can receive His healing touch and healing word. Receiving His healing touch and word brings healing, cleansing, and restoration. With the touch comes the flow of healing virtue and the word works wonders. While the touch is the healing channel, the word is the healing agency.
Do you believe in divine healing? Do you really have faith that Jesus can heal you of your bodily affliction? And, is your faith in the word or in your feeling.
