Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I want this piece to all be about the WONDERFUL peace and covering my God gives his children in times of trouble. Yesterday was a truly God day. A day of trust. A day of following. A day of peace. And yes…a day of Joy.

Let me share His beautiful Love story with you.

Yesterday started with when I noticed a flaw in the schedule that needed to be corrected and I had a few ideas, however, since my replacement will be in charge of it, I held my ideas until I could discuss it with her. We did spend a bit of time going over the ideas and she ultimately made a call about how she wanted the schedule to run. It was the least confusing and easiest to follow.

Mail was light and we were powering through when I got a text that another clerk had called off. This presented another problem, since I already had my two clerks helping other offices. We continued to process the mail and as we did we discussed how to cover that office. Between the two of us, we were able to secure a proper(ish) remedy for the problem.

As the carriers entered the building it was stated that we were missing a carrier car. Fast forward, he was having a totally normal person Monday and just forgot that he worked on Indiana time but was looking at Illinois time. Haha

My window was mostly dead. And a good thing. The terminal that normal work at did not want to play. I ran diagnostic after diagnostic and secure all the plugs….the main computer component stated everything was there and working, however….that was not the case…one very important component was not doing its thing. So I worked from the other side. The day itself was very quiet. This left me plenty of time to start learning the new reports that I will be responsible for. This in turn gave me time off my feet which was nice.

Somewhere towards three the storms began. I texted my husband and told him we had sirens, and he said I didn’t know the half of it…to call him. I did. My house and property got hit. Roof missing from the back of the house delivered to the front yard. Tree top toppled over into my husband’s shop, all the way over to the camper on the far end of the stop; penetrating the roof of the shop and destroying the air conditioning unit on the camper. Shingles blown off my garage. Another tree broke and leaning on the shed near the garage. Multiple tree limbs and brush all over the place. The electrical line that runs from the street to our house is only about 5 feet off the ground at its lowest point.

Your question may be how is that God showing his Love towards me, his child. From a world and non-believing view is valid. However, from His view…I was covered. It could have been so much worse. We could have lost the house entirely. I could have lost my husband. The damage could be soooooooooooo much more severe than it is. Yet, we were covered.

I have made two jokes throughout this…in the pictures that I posted on my social media page…the stream ends with the picture of the doghouse that my husband and his friend built…no damage and not even moved off its area where they put it originally. A very well-made doghouse. And second…I must be ticking Satan off, because he came at me strong. All I have done is praise God and made fun of him and his weak attempt. You cannot pierce my armor with a thunderstorm of destruction. My God protects me and my peace. I give a (and barely because I am generous) “D-“ for effort.

In a short time after the storm, the insurance people were here to assess the damage and start the paperwork rolling. Friends were here patching the roof for any more possible rain that may come. Offers to help with clean up were blowing up our phones. God is good…all the time. All the time God is good. You just have to be willing to look past the dark the enemy throws to cloud your view and see that bib beautiful sparkling Light…brighter than a unicorn’s, at the end of darkness. Once you start only seeing the Light, peace is yours forever. I am here to tell you… it is well worth it.
Today is clean up day. Today we see what damage lays under the destruction caused by the storm. Today we serve a Mighty God who protected us. Today is a great day.

Be blessed today my friends.

***He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save me from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.—Psalm 91:1-4
