Psalm 84:8-12 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
Behold our shield, O God; look upon the face of thine anointed!
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No good thing does the LORD withhold from those who walk uprightly.
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in thee!
Proverbs 3:11-24 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof,
for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son of whom he delights.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding,
for the gain from it is better than gain from silver and its profit better than gold.
She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called happy.
The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;

My son, keep sound wisdom and discretion; let them not escape from your sight,
and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.
Then you will walk on your way securely and your foot will not stumble.
If you sit down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down your sleep will be sweet.
Proverbs 22:11 He who loves purity of heart, and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend.
John 1:9-18 The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not.
He came to his own home, and his own people received him not.
But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God;
who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

And from his fulness have we all received, grace upon grace.

No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10 Three times I besought the Lord about this, that it should leave me;
but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you,, for my power is made perfect in weakness." I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
