“Goodbye yesterday, I am living for a new day, Praise the Lord”
These are the repeated words that I have heard in my mind this morning. I know that they are part of a song and are probably incomplete, however, they say the message of hope loud and clear.
Two days ago a storm came through and caused significant damage to our property. When the storm had passed, and by the time I had gotten home, people had already showed up to help us. Yesterday more people showed up and now our yard actually looks like a yard again. There are still trees where trees should not be and things that need to be fixed, however, those areas are insurance pending. We have already had one insurance agent out here and now the inspector is due here I believe today.
Satan threw a slider, and it was met with the Love Bat for a homerun.
Many times I have talked about our choices and that we are the only bible that most ever read. How followers react to circumstances that are deemed ‘the wrath’ when in reality there is no wrath, it is life and the minions trying to pierce our armor. It is okay to be frustrated and upset, however, it is not okay to live there. All living there does is rob you of joy and peace. As those things depart, there goes hope and love.
God did not rip part of my roof off and put a gaping hole in the roof of the shop. The wind did. The wind of the storm that blew in her faster than Grant took Richmond. God sent the friends. Family. Colleagues. And equipment.
Perspective is always the key to Peace, Joy, Hope, and Love.
