THEME: A MAN WHO KNOWS GOD
TEXT: 1John 2 vs 4 - 5
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.5 - But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
There many people who claim to know God but yet, they only believe in the existence of God. There is a big difference between knowing God and merely believing there is God. A fool says in his heart there is no God and corrupts himself. A person who only believes there is God but has nor regards or fear for is God and lives like a God doesn't exist is equally the same a fool who says God does not exist.
A man who knows God has a Personal relationship with God and knows the word of God. Knowing God is not mastering scripture or attending church every day but in daily obedience to God. Being Obedient to God is being Obedient to the word, you do the world of God, it becomes your life style. According to the scripture above a man who claims to know God and yet doesn't keep the word is a liar and the truth is not in him. The degree to which you are living by the word is the amount of truth that is in you, its that truth that makes you free.
When you live in God's word the love of God is perfected in you, it is complete. It is the love God in us that transforms us to be all that God desires us to be. When you do not have the love of God you will be a lover of the world. The world and all that is in it is passing away but the one does the will of God abides forever. You will be a slave to the lust of eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
CONFESSION
I know God and I abide in him by living inthe word of God. Theerefore, the love of God is perfected in me in Jesus mighty AMEN
