THEME: ISHMAEL BLESSING
TEXT: Genesis 16 vs 2
And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.


There are two kinds of blessings, an Isaac blessing and an Ishmael blessing. An Isaac is a blessing that comes as a fulfillment of God's promise according to the season and the timing of God. However, an Ishmael blessing is the exact opposite of the Isaac blessing. Many people settle for the Ishmael blessing because of delay in the manifestation of God's promise.

This is the reason why you have to understand that not every delay is of the devil sometimes it can come from God. When God delays to bless you it is because he is preparing you so that you are fit for it, so when you settle for Ishmael you cut short God's preparation process. Shortcuts will cut your destiny short. When you are in a hurry that God should bless you will settle for Ishmael. When Hagar became pregnant she treated sarah her mistress with contempt, Instead of Honour Ishmael brings contempt.

Hagar was an Egyptian slave who served sarah, Egypt represents the world, a place of slavery and bondage. Ishmael is blessing gotten by compromise, by the world's standards and not God's standard. Therefore, it a blessing that is a reject in the sight of God. This is why you must careful not to settle for an Ishmael blessing, Ishmael marriage, career or business. The blessing of God makes rich and adds no sorrow to it.

CONFESSION
I will not settle for Ishmael, I will not allow the devil to deceive me into thinking God has delayed to bless me or give me what I desire in Jesus mighty name AMEN
